Guilford Tech Fall 2012 Nursing Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

New to allnurses.com but, I just applied for Nursing School at GTCC and I am so anxious to find out what points are getting accepted! Just wondering how many have applied and what their point range was? That Tea's V was a butt Kicker for me! So anxious to get a letter!

Yes, all medical forms are due by June 2nd. You will need a flu shot, and I recommend the Meningococcal vaccine as well even though it is not required. Better to have it than not to when we are in the hospital doing our clinicals. Also be sure if you have not had your Hepatitis B series that you get that done (most everyone will have already gotten them for their CNA). Your PPD (Tuberculin Test) has to be done annually, so make sure it has not run out of date.

Other reminders:

Seat acceptance must be received by March 29th

Orientation is July 13th

First day of class is August 20th

Anyone that has any questions, feel free to ask. If I don't know the answer I will find out and get back to you. :nurse:

Seat acceptances due March 29?? That's awesome for us alternates, figured we'd be strung along a lot longer

Yes! March 29th! But they will probably start notifying alternates after June 2nd because those who were accepted have to turn their paperwork in by then or forfeit their seat. So, there will still be that waiting game, unfortunately.

Gonna cross my fingers that some of the seats don't get accepted in time so they can start working down the alternate list

I hear ya! We are rooting for you to join us! :yeah:

Lol Linda..... Remember....that's no way to make friends lol

So......can it be June 2nd yet......... UGH!!!! I'm impatient lol :uhoh3:

Ugh! Today started out great...had lunch with my husband and mother, took my mother shopping, then got a call from my friend's child's school because they couldn't reach her or her husband. I am an emergency contact. Her son was tackled by a classmate and hit his head on concrete. He has a concussion, but that isn't the kicker. They did a CT in the ER and found he has a large lesion about 1/4 the size of his brain! It was out of the ER doctor's expertise, so they are being referred to a Neurosurgeon at Baptist. It looks as though it may be fluid filled, but they aren't sure yet. The boy is only 10 years old. If any of you are praying people...please pray for ETHAN. Thanks.

Linda

Definitely a praying person; the only way I can get through some parts of life. I'll be praying for Ethan

Linda I am so sorry to hear this, bless his heart ! Prayers being sent up!

Okay everybody...here's the deal. You have to contact me at [email protected] if you want to set up a time to go over some pharmaceutical calculations. It is too difficult to get everyone together on the same schedule, but as I have said, my schedule is pretty flexible. So, if you seriously want to get a jump on it shoot me an e-mail.

Linda

Oh nooo.. I'm sorry to hear about that Linda, I will be praying for Ethan, hopefully he pulls through and gets better!
