Working for Metropolitan Jewish Health System

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi, Does anyone out there work for metropolitan jewish health system in the capacity of homecare RN. If so, What has your experience been like with this company. I'm looking to make the switch from med-surg to homecare. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I applied to MJHS and was told that I didn't qualify for the open house event even though I have a BSN, and have experience working in a hospital (non-RN position) for almost 10 years. I am a new grad. I'm curious as to why other new grads were offered invitations to the open house and I wasn't.

Do you have to have a car for these home care positions?

Specializes in MedSurg, PACU, Maternal/Child Health.

No most agencies do not require a car, you have to know how to get around on subway and buses though. Try VNS NY (Visiting Nurse Service) they hire new grads for some of their programs.

did they specify why you weren't qualified?

did they specify why you weren't qualified?

Unfortunately, no. They just sent a generic e-mail that I wasn't qualified, even though I have a BSN, graduated with honors, and have medical experience working in a hospital for 10 years in administrative support. :(

NurseKNYC, have you tried going to one of their walk in interview days?
