I agree with Silverdragon, the agency has the responsibility to find you a job to interview for and to advocate for you to be hired. If your current agency isnt doing that you may need to look for another agency. I met two young women at a NRP certification class 6 months ago and they were new grads with BSN but they had a year or two or work exp in their country (Korea if I remember right). They said how they got their hospital jobs just 2 month after graduation was through a job agency here. I dont remember the name though.

yes i know that they are the ones responsible....but i can't understand why they can't provide me one...i've seen in this forum that almost all of you recommends white glove care agency...that is my agency...they keep on telling me that they will find me one....however, they have many job openings in their website...they said that their affiliated facilities prioritize those have experiences there...that keeps me wondering why when you said that it is their job to give me one...

I understand now. I think it is best for you to seek job outside NYC. NYC has a lot of applicants, and of course US citizens get priority for jobs and even so a lot of US citizens cannot get a nursing job due to too many applicants and not enough jobs. There is NO nursing shortage in NYC. 15 years ago there was so they hired a lot of foreign nurses back then. But this is no longer the case. Try upstate NY in areas such as Albany, Schenectady, Buffalo, Rochester and even out of state in Kansas, North Dakota, Alabama, etc. These places really have nurse shortage and you should have a significantly easier time finding a job and you may also get SignOn Bonus. Ask White Glove if they also can refer you to their hiring departments in other cities/states, where there is little to no competition for RN jobs.

ok thanks for the advice...

Can you also seek help from another staffing agency? It does not seem right that you have to stick with them if they cannot find you a job. I hope they are not making you pay them money right now either. I have received emails from a national staffing agency hiring nurses for high need areas ...i'm not interested in moving from NYC at this time however you can try them. The agency is AYA Healthcare. Search them on Google. Im certain you can work with more than one agency in find you a job. And why White Glove will charge you if you leave them when they cannot guarantee they will find you a job is not nice of them.

Rules are very different if you are not a US citizen or resident and cannot work without a visa. She cannot receive the visa without a job in hand. Most US facilities have no interest in hiring those without work rights when there are numerous US trained nurses (new & experienced) who are already US citizens or permanent residents and thus do not require the added expenses & documentation of an immigrant. OP is under contract with this agency and likely agreed to a cash pay out if the contract is not fulfilled on her end. The agency already invested funds in recruiting her and processing the immigration paperwork hence the charges to the applicant who defaults or abandons the contract. Plus the agency is likely included on the visa application and there are costs involved if changing agencies.

Plus most facilities in NY would be hard pressed to prove that they cannot hire a qualified PR/citizen and must hire someone from overseas not to mention the additional expenses incurred by the facility for hiring a non citizen/resident. In many large metropolitan areas where facilities are union, the union agreement prohibits the facility from sponsoring overseas employees rather than promoting from within or hiring a US trained /US resident. (Very common situation in CA).

Honestly, I'm surprised you were able to still have a visa interview if your original job offer was withdrawn since your visa is employment based, and thus as you know, invalid without a job offer.

The only option, which I mentioned in a previous post, is applying in those areas with real nursing shortages/places where most people do not move to, such as rural areas or as I have seen in other posts, those labeled as "critical access areas". There the OP can have some luck with an agency placing her as hospitals there can prove that they do not have a legal resident or citizen that can take the job. It is odd how the agency still processed her visa if they knew that finding her a job in the NYC/Westchester/LI area was to be very difficult or unlikely.

Agency didn't process her visa the government did and for the Interview they are supposed to show document proof of job which probably explains why US embassy will not release visa and I am sure there will be some form of time frame

I told them that if they cant give me until next month, i want to have a release paper so that i can be recaptured by other agencies...they said i will be paying the amount stated for a breech of contract...i can't understand them because they can't give me a specific time frame when i can have a job offer...by august our medical exam will expire and next February our visa application expires and that means a denied visa...

Do they have any legal liabilities if they can't provide me one making my visa application denied? they seem to use against me the breech of contract if i change agency but they can't even do their job for me...

even i at first don't want to go with my scheduled interview since i know i don't have a job offer...the agent from my agency said i'll try to contact the US embassy here and ask if i can go on with out a job offer for she said that the job offer will have to follow...so the embassy agreed and they gave me one year time frame to mail the job offer...

i signed the contract with my agency way back 2007...if they won't let me change agency without paying for the breech of contract and until next year they can't give me a job, do they have legal liabilities to me since they themselves were not able to do there part as stated in the contract? why then they won't release me if they know they can't give me a job? there is one agency that is willing to give me a job but i need to have a release paper from white glove...

The agency filed for my visa application since they are my petitioner...if that's the case they can't find me a job and they won't release me as well, what is my right as their client when they can't do their part as stated in our contract?
