what is the starting salary for inexperienced nurses in clinics

I am going to be starting a job in a clinic in the bronx and just wondered what the normal starting salary is for a new grad. They asked me about salary and I really had no idea hadn't even thought about it so I told the guy I really did not know what the starting salary is usually. He said he would start me at $25 and hour. I'm just trying to figure out if it should be higher than that normally, want to make sure I wasn't played over. I'm not from the area.

So many temp jobs I've seen, for flu clinics Sept - Dec pay that, or a little better. So if you are worried about the area combined with the pay that they offered maybe you want to look into that while you continue looking. Just a thought because I read your other thread.

I started as a new RN at a clinic in 2012. My starting was $60k (31.80 an hour). I got bumped up by 2k after probation. We've recently become unionized and now starting salary is $65,500 (33.60 an hour) with 3% annual raise, retroactively. A close friend was offered $70k ($35.90) out of school, at a clinic. Hopefully this helps you out. I would definitely try and negotiate. How are the benefits looking?

Clinic salaries for new grads are around 50K ...unless you work in a hospital clinic/out patient department then you would have the same salary as all new RNs at the hospital regardless of what department you are in. Non-hospital clinics pay less b/c they have less budget to have salary level with hospital however as new grad you cant be picky based on salary. Get the experience first and get higher pay later. So $25 an hour sounds about right...dont worry about it.
