Is it only math? Or is it a combination of what was on the pre entrance exam?? I hope its just math I seem to do pretty well there! lol Thanks for all the info Grindin26. You are very informative and helpful!
Yup its all math, and the pharm teacher is in charge of grading it. I'd say it's a little bit more difficult than the entrance exam.

My advice to everyone is be able to visualize the formulas, and understand the rationale behind each one.

Theres math on every pharm exam, and some tests are all math with fill-ins.

Hello........to everyone! I am new to all nurses, and have been reading the posts about Veeb. Congrats to all who has been accepted. Those in the bridge, don't stress, do what needs to be done and pass. Those who are waiting don't worry Veeb is coming for you. I as well have been accepted to Veeb for Sept., 2009 class. I am very eager to get started but feel very nervous and anxious at the same time. But I really want to send a big thanks to all who has been very imformative about the school and what to expect. It does help alot. See you all in June.

Hey Akanini just a quidk question...I was thinking of following in your path in reference to the SNYA program and I was wondering what was the pay like if its not too personal of a question to ask? I know a friend who graduated from the Veeb program last year and she work for Planned Parenthood and make 25.00 an hour. If you don't feel comfortable giving me an exact amount could you at least give me a range. While funds are very tight right now, I would really rather not have to worry about loans and coming up with money for books. I'm a hard worker and 2 years will go by in no time, I know that. I tried to send you a message but didn't know how to do it. If you would rather me email you or you email me please let me know. Thanks

Doesn't matter how long a program takes, as long as it's at least 1100 hours of clinical/class time. VEEB only gives CPR cert. as far as I know.

LPN's don't insert IV's. Nurses in general usually don't draw blood to my knowledge and EKG's are a pretty simple skill.

Your friend seems to be on the defensive end. :chuckle

Also as far as the loans, you pay at your own pace, but you just keep accruing interest. If you end up getting a subsidized loan from the gov't, no interest accrues as long as you're enrolled in school.

Thanks for the info. My friend does feel that boces is better than veeb but I'm happy. Veeb is going to work for me and I will still acheive my goal. Hey, did anyone get there doctors letter yet?? How detailed does it have to be since veeb doesnt have a physical form that needs to be completed.

I just got a record of all my immunizations from my Doctor. I was under the impression that the physical HAS to be done at VEEB, but if you have all the required immunizations, then they dont have to give them to you, nor charge you extra for them!:wink2:

Its called introductory clinical pharmacology from lippincott 8th edition.

Dunno if they use the same one every year.

They'll give you the book list at orientation.

The mandatory books Id say you need are the Drug Guide, Science Study Guide, Clinical Calculations (if you're proficient at math, you really don't need it, but they'll tell you to bring it to class a few times) and the Journey book.

All the other books are basically study assistants. I'm not saying don't buy them since everyone studies differently, but I'm doing quite well and I basically don't touch my books not unless the school requires it.

Not condoning my behavior, but you guys will understand where I'm coming from when you start the program.

Also if you've taken A&P recently or are proficient at it, you probably won't be needing the Science book.

Basically if you're tight on cash, buy the mandatory ones I mentioned and get the other ones as you deem necessary.
