Hi All,
I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
Come on guys,,,We need to support each other not bash each other,,VEEB can stress you out beyond belief and who knows why they do what they do( crazy testing, crazy fees and deposits, charging people to take the test even though they know these people will be on a wait list),,,Be bitter with VEEB not each other. We all need each other in SEPT!!!!!!!!!
Hi farroc...and everyone else! I finally got my letter...also a "hold" I had my letters of rec all ready to go...but they don't even want them! I was thinking about taking the TEAS test for BOCES but since it's so late I'm concerned I'm going to be in the same situation there...late test date=waitlist...
The bottom line, farroc, is you and I should have taken the test earlier :smackingf harsh but it's the truth! and we were told when I took the test that we probably would be on the wait list.
I heard if you are waitlist this year you automatically get in next year. Did anyone else hear that?
Hey shell, as far as I know all the private lpn schools in NY have entrance exams, and usually the tuition for a private lpn school is more expensive then going to community college, but its worth it because if u do a lpn program at a private lpn school it usually only takes 11 months.. Goodluck!
Hello everyone,First I'd like to say I liked reading your posts, they were informative and that you are a supportive bunch.
Second, I have read a lot of posts about the bridge program and they have confused me. I recieved a letter today saying that I passed the entrance exam, but they have put a "hold" on offering additional seats. I guess I'm on a wait list. So I'm wondering, from what I've read here it seems that they are holding seats for those in the bridge program;
I don't know what to make of this. Would I have a better chance getting in if I had not passed?:hdvwl:
What does this "hold" mean for those who passed? Does that mean they're put on a waiting list?
:thnkg:
Please help.
Sorry to hear that, what happened to you was probably bad timing.
I'm assuming you tested in mid-March? By that time, I think VEEB was already sending out "passing" letters. And with the demand for the program this year, deposits probably came in quick.
I still don't know the exact method to VEEB's madness, but after seeing a lot of the recent posts, its probably whoever is over the "passing" threshold will get considered for admission.
So basically exceling on the test means nothing, its more about when you take it. I assumed wrong, thinking VEEB scales the grades for admission, since I took the test pretty late last year, did well and got in.
At least you're on a waiting list though, so you never know. Definitely look into other options, perhaps starting pre-reqs for RN etc.
In Sept. last year, quite a few people left VEEB in the first few days, and their seats were immediately filled in via waiting list.
I'm afraid I have to agree with FARROC here...grow up Geo. That kind of attitude is probably why you didnt pass and are now taking this test for, was it the 3rd time u said? Farroc passed it on the first try and I think you are jealous.I apologize if I have offended anyone else on this board. I truly support everyone in your career journeys. I am just fed up with reading these immature posts from GEO.:icon_roll
Pardon my ignorance here, but I simply browse the posts, not necessarily names associated with them.
Anyways if you're going to VEEB, you're going to be dealing with quite a bit of this. Not necessarily directly but it will transpire often. It gets me angry sometimes why these people continually disrupt the learning process, but it often reflects in their test scores.
And age is no guage of maturity, whatsoever at VEEB.
