VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

also grindin if u dont mind the questions,,,how long is each subject?(daily) any breaks in between? 5 hrs a day and 4 subjects..just wondered.

Ya I have no prob answering the questions. I hope to relieve any anxiety or concerns you guys have with VEEB.

Basically its an hour a class. And lab takes up the last hour. All test days begin with a test. Finals/Mid-terms are always a full day of testing.

As far as clinical sites, if you live near VEEB you'll have no problem. The sites near VEEB are NUMC, Townhouse and A. Holly right next door.

But if you live in NYC itself, don't expect to be placed closer to your home. Basically so much of VEEB originates from NYC you might end up at the site furthest away and VEEB is secretive with the zipcode groupings as much as they're with the testing process.

I live very close to Queens General and was excited to potentially be there. But instead they placed mainly people in the JFK area there for w/e reason. I ended up at NUMC along with people coming from as far as Staten Island, Bronx, Upper-Manhattan.

Wow 91 average grindin! That's great!!!! Good for u!!! grindin do u have classmates with small children? Mines are 3 and 1 years old, so I'm wondering how its going for them.. Oh and also are u going to Helen fuld after veeb?

A bunch, I would say 1 in 3 people have kids at VEEB. We've even had people give birth during the program and right before, they seem to be doing well.

Definitely considering Helene Fuld since they're actually linked with VEEB. Ideally though Id like to be at Molloy also linked with VEEB, since Helene Fuld won't take some of my college credits for essentially the same pre-reqs. Plus the MTA wants to raise fares and put tolls on the bridges...ridiculous.

I asked the counselor recently about LPN to RN and basically in 3rd semester 3-4 schools are inviited to "recruit" I guess for their LPN-RN programs and among them are the aforementioned.

Grindin ,

Are there any breaks between the semesters and do you guys get holidays off?

I'm somewhat relieved being that you gave me that feedback I really appreciate it. I heard that you arent allowed to a fail a course at veebs no more than two times is that true? (heard two students who attend the school talking about it in the hallway) [whistling]

Hello everyone! So I have an interview on Monday for the bridge program, just when I thought I was going to have to change my nursing career into mass. Communications. Almost all the other lpn program are already full or way to expensive, and even tho I like NCC and did well in my pre-reqs I don't see myself going back there for nursing. I guess the saying " good things come to those who wait" is true!

All the major holidays of course and some of the Unofficial (i.e. Veteran's Day) / Jewish holidays. There's a Christmas break which coincides with ones elementary schools get and spring break is real late. Mine is next week so I guess its the last week of April every year.
