VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Hi Glady17 I probably should call the school but sumtimes the receptionist has a crazy nasty attitude why I'm not sure bc I called to find out when the apps were being handed out and she just said call at the end of the month and hung up on me lol she probably hates answering the same questions but hey that's her job and I will deffinately be calling Monday morning. I also heard that if u passed your pretty much in I don't know how true that is but I'm saving and preparing myself like I'm already in veeb lol well good luck guys hopefully ANYDAY now we should be getting that "golden envelope"

Hello fellow future clssmates, pls i need to know if anyone has recieved his or her acceptance letter

Haven't received anything yet either.......The bridge program ends June 26, wouldn't be surprise if we receive our letters sometime in July.

Hello everyone I am new to the board just had a few questions hopefully sum1 can answer. Around wen is the orientation for veeb and is the physical the same day or at a diffrent time? I know we have to pay for the physical but wen u don't have certain shots u have to pay extra is the drug test extra also? Do we have to pay any lab fees or anything bc I see the school is about getting money where ever and however from us I'm just trying to figure how much to save before I dig a hole I can't get out of

Orientation and the physical are 2 different days. One is in June and one in July from what I remember. The Physical is on a Saturday. They do drug testing, draw blood, etc. You have to get the physical at the school there is no way around that. You can get your other tests PPD, MMR Hep B. etc through your own MD. last Year the physical was $185 that includes everything but your shots.

hey does anyone know what type of drug test is given is it urine or hair sample

VEEB must really be digging through the pile of candidates this time around. I received my acceptance not even a week after handing in my references, but those were different times, the economy was just starting to slip back in Spring 08'.

VEEB is extremely antiquated, so just stay patient. I can't agree with them for taking this long, people need to figure out their lives. On the other hand though, they want to ensure students who seem to have longevity, since it costs them money if you drop out.

And the drug screening is urine. Don't worry, you get to keep your hair...lol

ok since im not the only one asking about the drug screening now that i see its a urine is it on site or sent out to a lab?? And a friend of mine is also waiting to hear from Veeb but she just found out she is pregnat so will she still be able to attend this year or will it be a problem??

You guys are awfully concerned about the drug test :smokin: LOL. Everything is sent out to a lab. My suggestion if you are doing anything, to stop. You wouldn't want the reason you don't get into school to be a failed drug test. There are 2 pregnant girls in the program now and 2 that gave birth since the program started. Being pregnant is not an issue.

Right smoking is not such a bad idea at all. Got to calm my nerves waiting for the mysterious acceptance letter. Think I'll mix a glass of cranberry and vodka. Uh-oh VEEB just might be driving me to drink.....So tell me what are you doing to get through this long wait?

Hi everyone I've been watching this message board for a while now and I've posted just once before I took the pre-entrance exam. I'm not one for message boards but I've got to say at this point I feel like I've been waiting so long for this acceptance letter that I've got to let out the frustration somewhere. Misery loves company huh? I did well on the exam and have already submitted my reference letters and so maybe I shouldn't feel so worried but this wait is making me so nervous. I've been constantly checking this board to see if everyone else has heard back besides me. I called this morning to see if there was anything missing from my application file or if any sort of notice has been sent out besides the exam results and reference requests and they just say "you'll recieve a letter in the mail" and that they cannot answer when. I know some of you out there are in the same position and for some of us it seems like our lives are somewhat on hold pending these letters. I mean, even if I was not accepted at this point any notice would be a relief, however of course I'm really hoping for good news. Good luck to everyone else as well.

I totally agree with you changemyworld. Since we are all going crazy waiting for our acceptance letters, wouldn't it be crazy if all 200 people that are suppose to be accepted into the program decided to go with their plab B, and decided NOT to attend VEEB because it took too long......LOL....wow Karma would be a real B$%^H. Then poor little VEEB wouldn't have a class.....LOL.......it's just a thought. Humor makes things a little easier not to think of reality....oh well.....guess we will see how long it will take for everyone to go with their plan B's or C's. :D
