Hello! I applied to their accelerated program for next year also. Do you or does anyone else know when we should hear something?

Hi!! I've also applied for the 2012 program. As far as acceptance letter, based on the reading I just did on last year's applicants, it looks like they received the letter about a month from sending in their application but some months later.

Yes that's what I've seen as well. Did the two of you take your TEAS V exam yet? If so, how was it?

I'm assuming we'll hear something late December to early January since the application deadline this year is earlier than last year (which was in January)

Yes I took it last month and it wasn't that bad. I studied for about a month here and there with the study manual and did ok.

That's good. Which section would you say was the most difficult?

I did the worst on the science portion, which Downstate doesn't count, but I was surprised how difficult it was for me being that I have taken so many science courses in the past year. The chemistry questions were hard. I still wanted to do well because they will still see the score and didn't want to completely bomb that portion. The Reading section isn't that easy either because you have to read these passages and answer questions. You see the clock ticking away and feel like you have to rush, so that is where I made some mistakes. I got above what they wanted, so hopefully that is enough.

When are you scheduled to take the TEAS?

I am taking mine next month. I'm worried about the Science portion. Would you say the test was quite similar to the practice tests in the book?

I spoke to the guy in admissions, and he actually told me they need to rewrite te language on teh website. They said the online portion of the application is due Nov. 15th but the actually application is still due Jan. 15th. He also said people should hear about interviews 0_0... had no idea did those. But I applied for the programmm...really hope I get in.

It is very similar, same types of questions. I found my version of the test to have more of the sections I had trouble with, but it pretty much follows the practice tests. Good luck!

Hmm, I think that guy was thinking of another program because we were told at the info session there are no interviews for the accelerated program. Maybe he was thinking of RN to BSN or CRNA?
