SUNY Downstate ABSN June 2012

Hi everyone! I am new to All Nurses but I've noticed that no one has started a thread for the SUNY Downstate June 2012 ABSN program (or maybe I just didnt see it). Is anyone out there applying for it????:):)

I was at the admissions office yesterday dropping something off and the woman at the front desk said that some years several people do not get their forms in and space is created for alternates and other years all of the applicants follow through and no spots are available. If you are an alternate, you might get a call next week or in rare cases, on June 4, the day of orientation. Hang in there.....

Hello Everyone,

Congrats to the incoming ABSN class at Suny Downstate! I'm a prospective student, finishing up my pre-req's this summer. I have one question that I frequently get mixed responses about:

Do you need to take your pre-req's at Downstate before applying? Or be enroled for at least a semester?

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and I will be applying for the next cycle this fall for 2014. I know it's a bit far from now but I still have three prereqs to complete this fall.

For those that have been accepted, CONGRATS!!!

If anyone can share their stats in terms of their GPA, general background, it would really really be appreciated!

I had a 3.8 GPA in psychology during my undergrad but I did not come from a health field. In fact, I've been working in a law firm for the past two years as a paralegal and I now I know what my real passion is. I miss the science and its applicability towards helping others.

Any insights would truly help the next prospective class!
