Every single school that I've read about/applied to have had comments associated with it that are similar to what you're saying. I'm sure your experience is legitimate, but I can't say that I feel this would be the case for everyone at any given school. I've heard the same story for Pace, for NCC, for SCC, for Farmingdale, for Downstate, for *insert school name here* (probably with the exception of Stony Brook, but I am sure there are people out there with a similar story), but for all schools, people have mentioned that the professors are not willing to help students learn, or are not willing to be available outside of classes, or it's not a good environment, in general, or too many people fail, etc. etc. Every school is going to have a professor or even a department like that, and I think it depends on how the student uses this to his or her advantage or how he or she will overcome it to decide how successful one will be. I'm not saying that you've done something wrong... it would be ideal to have a school/teacher/department that really goes the extra mile to ensure that students learn as much as they can, but I don't think that's necessarily realistic. Just another perspective from someone who has never gone to nursing school, so maybe it's not even valid, but this is what I think when I read "horror stories" or negative opinions about a well-respected (or even not well-respected) school of nursing.
To mindylane
I do understand what u are saying but I don't think u understand me. I am currently at downstate . I am a nursing student at downstate. I am in the accerelated nursing program at downstate. We are all complaining right now . And still no help. Pace is a better school than downstate , that's y I am leaving downstate... I am not attacking downstate. A lot of us are leaving downstate to pace . Goodluck . FYI don't try to defend any school unless u r currently a student of that school. If you were a student of downstate you would know that there are a lot of us from the accerelated nursing program complaining. Just keep it real

To Brooklyn 2012Yes and no . It all depends if u want downstate to know. Most of us have been accepted to pace we are just waiting to start. In pace there is a one year program . Some of us would be coming in as a new candidate or student and some of us are coming in as a transferred student. I am coming in as a transferred student.

Trenwen,
Can I ask why you are leaving SUNY-D?
Did you complete your BSN or are you leaving mid-way?
