Hey guys! So I just applied to the SBU Basic (2 year) program a couple of days ago. I thought it would be nice to start a forum. Feel free to ask any questions! And good luck to all who are applying!!!

This school sccc system different I guess. My college Cuny (nycct) we register almost 2 week before prg start lol u guys need to deposit etc Intresting

Likewise! I would be happy in either program, I'm just hoping for stony brook since it's the quicker route to a BSN. Good luck lady, I hope we get in! My mother told me that if I mail in my deposit for SCCC then I'll definitely get into SBU. Haha ... I'm mailing mine in Monday, hoping I'll hear before then.

Good luck as well! I already have a bachelors so This would be the best route for me. We will find out soon everyday I still check solar to see if anything changed lol

I have a BS too, ... in biology from stony brook. We have so much in common! Haha. I work at stony brook hospital too ... A lot of the nurses on my unit did the two year and one year programs. Some others did the sccc to sbu route.

I have a biology degree from Farmingdale. You should definitely get into stony brook then! I tried to get a job but I couldn't. I am a nanny so my work experience does not really help me lol. What town are you from? If stony brook doesn't except me ill do the sccc to stony brook route. Do you know if you have to have irk experience before you can apply?

This is getting crazy! I was a nanny too! I left my nannying job in september to get my nurse aid certification. I got certified in November. Applied at stony brook hospital later that month and started in January. I'm a clinical assistant (a nurses aide). I was shocked when I got a call for an interview and even more shocked when I got the job. I only had experience of two weeks worth of clinicals for the certification class. Do you have your cna? Keep applying! There's all different units with openings. And I live in patchogue. :)

This is too funny! I am from Miller Place. That is awesome with your job. I do not have any cna certification but I did get my EMT license and I volunteered for a short period of time but school was consuming my life so I stopped. I am definitely going to keep at it trying to get a job in the hospital if I don't get into stony brook. I thought about get the cna license but I was actually in Liu accelerated nursing program in Brooklyn. I did one semester and had to stop because I couldn't get any private loans and they cost 16,000 a semester. Also the travel to Brooklyn was taxing on me and super expensive. So I went back to nannying and here I am now waiting so desperately to start again lol.

I can imagine how diffuclt is and thats the reason i wasnt able to go pace cos tution is so high and wasnt eligible to get higher amount of loan .. I have Business Degree (BA) from my country Turkey and moved here recently.. Hopefully being male and coming from different culture would help me to get in to SBU ,

I am in first semester of AS nursing program at NYCCT(CUNY). But sine 28 yo I am , that I dont wanna waste 4 more year in order to get BSN at this college .. I am dying to get in SBU.

Any one else going crazy?! I keep telling myself only 9 more days of March! hopefully we'll all have our results within those days :) :) I check solar like 4 times a day thinking it'll say "view decision." lol

Yes the anticipation to find out is very high. Crossing my fingers!!... If not I still have York, Farmingdale and Nassau. Farmingdale switched my Fall 2013 application to their advanced standing nursing track for spring 2014. The last step to getting into that program is taking NLN. But I'm really hoping and hoping that I get into Stony Brook!!

Hey guys I just called stony brook to ask when the decisions will be sent out and they said mid to late april ! I wonder why they told some of you end of march....I thought we might hear back this week, the end of april is so far away :(
