I've worked a number of places in Manhattan, and Long Island. I also have worked with other ADN and even a few Diploma RNs. How much experience you have, and what type can be a factor, as well as whether or not you plan to continue your education and get the BSN. I've worked at NYP, NS-LIJ - Manhasset, and Flushing. I've interviewed at and spoken with eager recruiters and floor managers from other area hospitals and agencies.
There was only one job I was interested in that really wanted a BSN and it was a Quality Management position that I worked for 6 months through an agency.
Most NY hospitals have generous tuition reimbursement plans, some start after a year, others six months or less.

Yes. They do. I worked in 2 NY hospitals on LI, when I had my diploma.... but the bigger hospitals in the city... want you to at least be in school or a deff start date..... which are you looking at?

I worked there in 1996 to 2000, but I was a medical secretary, not a nurse. It was a big hospital, but I liked it. Once I get my BSN, I'll probably head back up there.

From what I have seen....just about all of them do.
