New York City, You make me so happy and so so sad

U.S.A. New York

Published

I arrived to NYC just yesterday evening and I absolutely just love this city. It makes me so incredibly happy whenever I'm here but yet so very sad. Because I know I'll have to leave in one week and fly back home. I know it's kinda dumb to say that on the very first day of my vacation but yeah I would just love to live here so so much that's why NYC makes me sad at the same time. Desperate to finding a job in this amazing city and wonderful country....

Have a wonderful Christmas

Thanks @adpiRN :)

how much was the housing? You said they're right across the hospital. How much were they? Sounds great. Presbyterian would be one of my favorite ones too.

@Paws2people

Oh yeah ;) I sure do but still, hey why not give it a shot :)

I'm with veggies.

The love definitely will wear off.

I'm sure it will. But that'll happen in every city, now won't it?... That's what I think at least

I think you would have a very hard time finding a hospital willing to sponsor your H1B when there's a glut of available nurses here ready and willing to work. Not trying to dash your dream - I used to do H1Bs for STEM folks and found it difficult to obtain them for people who were at the top of their game in an area of need. You might have more luck getting a sponsor in a higher needs area.

OP, LIVING in NY and being on vacation here are TOTALLY different!

I don't remember exactly but maybe $1,400-$1,900 month for a studio? If you're single they will only give you a studio.

I never lived in one myself but friends did.

However my info is years old.

The Columbia campus of NYP also has housing and Washington Heights is cheaper.

@akanini

It sure is...Duh

i moved to munich 'bout 3 years ago and it's of course a lot different now than being on vacation a few years ago. But I just enjoy all the possibilities a big city has to offer. If you take them or not is still your choice.

Alright. Back home. Got back Sunday morning. We had an incredible time and I enjoyed every second of it. Will go back for sure. Would have loved to stay longer but yah know...

Started the first out of 8 nights yesterday. I wish you all a very merry Christmas and to those who will be stuck at work, a pleasant shift.

happy holidays

Good luck trying to get a sponsor when there are so many nurses here. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.UM DUH!
