I arrived to NYC just yesterday evening and I absolutely just love this city. It makes me so incredibly happy whenever I'm here but yet so very sad. Because I know I'll have to leave in one week and fly back home. I know it's kinda dumb to say that on the very first day of my vacation but yeah I would just love to live here so so much that's why NYC makes me sad at the same time. Desperate to finding a job in this amazing city and wonderful country....
Have a wonderful Christmas

Lived in NYC for the last ten years. Trust me, if you live here the feelings will wear off.
First problem you will face is housing. Wherever you move, you will not be far from a housing project. Second, if you do get a job here, it will likely be at an HHC hospital. They have no money and are dirty and broke. I wouldn't send my neighbor's dog there for treatment. Have I mentioned the winters? Last winter it got down to 4 degrees. You will be walking to the train/bus in that. Then you will get on the train/bus to a crowd of sick people where you will try to breathe into your own scarf to avoid a)other people's breath and b)the omnipresent smell of feces and urine that is on public transportation. Grocery store? They close at dark, and everything is filthy. Google "video nyc grocery store mice on food". These are only a FEW of the annoyances you will deal with every day. Oh, and realize that if you move here you won't be living in Times Square. Unless you're lucky enough to find a job right next to where you live (snowball's chance in hell) you will sit on public transportation for an hour or more every day. Your neighbors will be people on section 8 who spend all day drinking and looking for trouble. Your neighbors will also be cockroaches.
Yeah, I'm getting ready to move away from here.

If you have family stay away unless you are made of money. Lol. I loved living in NYC until i had kids, then cost of living made me run away.
Hey you guys. I live in a big city now, well not as big as The City but yeah.im pretty sure it'll be super tough but I just wanna give it a shot.
I know that I sure will not be living right next to times square but yeah just wanna give NYC a shot. Would love to live and work here and I don't have family, I'm hard working, ambitious and a dedicated person...
One more question. I've read so much about "salary".
sometimes I see salaries as low as $50K and then sometimes as high as $100K. How high of a salary can you expect?
Im currently working on a surgical ICU. Have 3 years of working experience by now. Will that be enough to be eligible for a H1b??

Well hey, go for it. Good luck to you. You have experience already, so that will put you ahead. If you end up moving here, look at apartments in Stuyvesant Town or Peter Cooper, they're the best value I feel. Someone else can better answer your questions about salary, I'm a new grad.
Hospitals you may want to look at:
Mt. Sinai
Lenox Hill
NY Presbyterian (Columbia and Cornell)
I would stay away from HHC hospitals (like Bellevue, Metropolitan, etc)
also LIJ hospitals are preferred
Thanks a bunch:))) i really appreciate it

I once lived in Stuy town and it is good value. So is the financial district downtown. Or the Upper East Side, way East by York or East End.
I worked at NY Presbyterian Cornell so maybe I'm biased but I think it's the best hopsital in NYC :)
Lenox Hill and Mt Sinai were my 2nd choice.
NY Presbyterian offers hospital housing on the Upper East Side, some right across from the hopsital.
It's a pretty good deal.
Living in NYC definitely is an experience and I understand the appeal.
Being born and raised there though the crowds and winters did get old for me, not to mention the cost of living.
I live in SC now and love it. But still love visiting NYC to go see my family.
It really is an amazing city and I miss the food!
Good luck!
As for salary, I made $37/hr in 2009 as a new grad. By the time I left in 2012 I was at $42/hr I think. I would guess with your experience you'd make at least that or more.
So annually over $80,000 for sure.
