I've decided to go to LIU for my BSN but I will certainly let you know when they contact me.
Congratulations! It sounds like an excellent choice! And

Well, today I got my lettter for the next phase and it is....DUM, DUM, DUM....another test....it is an adult basic education exam and they are also asking that I have a physical exam, and bring current documents to the exam. The NYC HHC will also be there to conduct financial screenings for scholarships...and something else leading to employment with the HHC...

Thanks so much for letting me know. I'll be on the look-out.
Best of luck to you at LIU.

If you accept a "scholarship" from HHC they are going to want you to sign a 2year contract with them. I know that their current employees receive their salary as well as have their tuition (books too) covered by HHC in exchange for 2 years service.
One Caveat if you are thinking about signing a contract with HHC....the pay stinks. Currently HHC's starting salary for LPN's is $37k annually about $20.50for a 35 hour work week.
thanks! I can't wait

I live in the Bronx so I am going on what I know about this borough.
Kings harbor LTC $22.51/hr. plus 10% for evening and night shifts.
Some areas of Monte $23/hr (before evening/night differential)
Hebrew Home for the Aged $27/hr (before evening differential) $33/hr per diem.
My mum is an LPN at a LTC $24/hr + differential for night shift. She also told me so got an agency offer for $29/hr.
I have heard that St. Patrick's is $25/hr but I don't know anyone personally who works there so that is hearsay to me.
I appreciate the info., thank you! I rec'd my letter in the mail
today.

Well, from what I know NYP rarely hires LPN's.
As far as what other facilities pay, I was quoted by an 1199 rep anywhere from 18-25 dollars per hour that are unionized.
