CUNY Hunter Accelerated Prog. Fall 2011

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi! Is anyone else applying for the Accelerated Prog. for Fall 2011?

Guys, I basically gave up and being accepted into this program. I'm going to look into other programs. I really wasted a whole semester taking these GER requiements which will not be accepted at other schools. At least, they could have notifed us on not being accepted very early instead of the Dean posting her comment. As the Dean stated in the 98th post. The 50 students who got interview emails are the only students being considered for the program. They are going to select 32 out the 50.

Does anyone know where else in NYC haw accelerated programs? How much is NYU and Columbia?

Thank you Titimena! Need all the luck I can get. Good luck to all of us, may we be granted the patience to get through this time of waiting and uncertainty without having nervous breakdowns :)

Manhattanite, I don't think the interviews have been completed, I think they run until Thursday, although I am uncertain of when they are interviewing the candidates for the generic program? I cannot imagine conducting 90 interviews in four days, (50 of us and 40 generic pathway applicants) so maybe if someone knows of a generic pathway applicant's interview date, let us know?

I didn't hear anything until April 29th when I got the interview request. Nothing from the Nursing CAS and nothing from Hunter.

So u got the email the 29th and the interview was yesterday? Also does your last name start with one of the early letters? Mines is r so maybe that has something to do wth it?

Manhattanite - Yep, short notice! I tried to figure the possibility of us being alphabetized as well :)... no, my last name is right in the middle. And Lehman College has an accelerated BSN, it's the only (or one of the only) other CUNY schools that does. And they may have Spring and Fall start dates. Columbia, NYU, Pace etc. are private institutions, so their tuition is pretty expensive. They have their tuition rates on their websites.

Could you tell me more about the actual email letter? How many people applied fOr the accelerated?

At this point I think the most helpful thing would be for a person who got an interview to post their scores. Its really ridiculous that this question is being avoided because this thread is anonymous.

It was a brief letter, in summary: Dear Applicant, you have been selected participate in an admissions interview, please proceed to the campus at such and such time, we look forward to meeting with you...etc. I believe that there were around 100 applicants for the accelerated program, possibly more?

Oh and sorry, I keep forgetting. NLN 150, GPA 3.45

Thank you ione121. That helps those of us who wanted to know where we stand.

wow..awesome scores ione..any1 else that received an interview care to share their scores?..please :( i am in the generic and am still holding on to a little hope because my gpa sucks :( but after that post by the Dean..lol i think i should stop hoping for the impossible

Hey,
