Hello I am a junior applying for the generic program at Hunter College and I am also worried about whether or not I will get into the program. According to the Dean if they are going to select applicants who were in the 80th to 120th rank for interviews and I didn't get any letters yet I am praying that I either fell into a rank under 80 or that I will get an interview email soon. I currently have a 3.69 gpa and a nln score of 141. This waiting process is torturous. Goodluck to you all!

Not fair! How can you compare someone who has a degree in psychology from Idaho VS someone who graduated from hunter with a degree in biochemistry? Answer me that Dean! This is BS, I'm going to Columbia. I went to hunter for 4 years, everyone has a stick up their ass and are too conceded to talk to anyone
wangten2011 I got my email for an interview on April 29th
orz so i'm guessing all the interview decisions were mailed out on the 29th :'(
Thanks for replying Lakelind and good luck :)

OMG! This is heartbreaking! I can't believe I didn't get an email on the 29th. Disappointed to say the least. --I would have been a WONDERFUL Nurse, I'm pretty much one now except I don't have the title that says that-- My patients love me and I love my patients -- Congrats to all who were selected as the top 50. This city needs GREAT Nurses with passion and smarts. :)

So the students for accelerated program were already picked? I can't believe this. I should've applied to the generic program. I have a 3.81 GPA for all the pre nursing courses here, a 3.65 gpa with my BBA degree and a 129 on the test.

@titimena,
You're so supportive and I think everyone on this listserve appreciates that! You are destined to be a great nurse and no title will say that more readily than your own passion and desire to help others! Gluck along the way and don't ever give up! we are rooting for you!

I feel the same way about applying to the generic instead. The adviser told me i would have a better chance applying to accelerated when i asked her =(. It appears to me that this year was definitely more competitive than last year just by comparing my friend's who is currently in the program scores to those who didnt get an interview.

I just don't like the fact that the Dean posted that only 50 students were granted interviews and 32 will be selected. How can she inform us this way? Imagine how students felt who didn't get an email. That was very unprofessional. And when you try to go up there or call to get answers, they are so secretive or give you vague answers.
