CUNY Hunter Accelerated Prog. Fall 2011

Published

Hi! Is anyone else applying for the Accelerated Prog. for Fall 2011?

I'm so curious as to whether the interviews are really random or based on if the applicant's rank is bordering the cut off for acceptance into the program. As stated earlier, random interviews don't really make sense...has anyone with a fairly high gpa & nln not get an interview? I heard of someone with a 4.0 and pretty good nln applying to the generic that didnt get an interview email.

I applied with a 4.0 and a 143 composite on the NLN and didn't get an interview as of yet though I opted for the generic as opposed to the accelerated. I'm walking on pins and needles. I can't beleive they are pushing back the admission letters again! Good luck!!:)

BKLARH with that gpa and nln score I'm sure you'll get accepted. Hats off to you! :) On a different note, can someone who did get an invitation to interview post their NLN score.

Dear Applicants,

For the accelerated program, the 50 applicants with the highest composite score are being interviewed in a group format; for the generic program, candidates from the rank of 80 through 120 are being interviewed. The questions are not the same as last year, but will center on life experience and academic history. Interviews are being held Monday through Thursday of this week, and emails with decisions will be sent on Friday and Monday. There have been no delays in the admission process. When information came in from Nursing CAS, interviews were scheduled. Good luck to all.

the wait is killing :(

Helen88a and cat, you have to be matriculated into the school for at least two semesters before you apply to the accelerated rn program. If you have a BS in any area of study, they will not accept all your credits. You have do at least 1 writing class and fulfill some of the GER, plurism and diversity credits. Sorry to burst your bubble.

The Dean of the program left the 98th post. I wonder if those 50 students with the highest NLN scores who were granted interviews are the only ones will be accepted into the program?

so wait..the 50 students with the highest NLN score? what about GPA? o.O

composite scores. NLN and GPA

ione121, how did the interview go?

Yeah Ione121, how did it go, tell us

It was good! The administrators were very gracious. We were asked about our academic and professional backgrounds, given some insight into what the program would require of us as students, and reminded that we had to have all of our GER core requirements fulfilled... a bit intimidating, but overall it was pain-free :)

How many students were part of the group interview. You sounded so worried before but now after attending this interview you sound so relaxed. Must really be a pleasant experience :)
