Can you decline a job offer after already accepting and filling out paperwork?

I was offered a position at mercy medical and i accepted cuz it was the only thing i had heard back from, now i have heard back from north shore manhasset, and that floor seemed really nice and i want to accept it but im afriad of having to decline at mercy. does anybody have an expereince witht his kind of situation? Any help I would really appreciate!

We have had people change their minds. It is not really looked down upon but keep in mind that if you were to ever apply there again, they may remember that you accepted and then changed your mind. I would go with whichever job you think will make you the happiest.

If you have a firm job offer from the preferred hospital, then I tell the first hospital that unfortunately I needed to decline their job offer. You don't have to go into detail about *why* you've changed your mind, but I'd do it asap so they can fill the position.

I would most definately go work at where I'd be the happiest!!

I agree with Princess M83, take the one you want, but keep in mind, you may not get a second chance at that first hospital. But let them know ASAP
