New Mexico Licensure Question

U.S.A. New Mexico

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

hi everyone! I am from the philippines and i am planning to endorse my NM license to NY. Can somebody be kind enough to help me? anyone else that's in the same situation? the process, requirements and fees... everything.. please? do i have to be in the US in order to start endorsing?

You need to go through CVS with NY so go to CGFNS website and look for the link on CVS. All relevant info will be on NY BON website including fees. No you do not need to be in the US to start the process. As long as you have a US license you can endorse. You will also need to complete the online courses required by NY before they will issue you with a license

hello guys... please help me. i'm desperate. can someone please thrust a knife at my chest?

i sent my application for NM BON last August 2007. i just received an email a while ago stating:

"It has been determined through review of your nursing education transcript, that information was either incomplete or missing. Your school of nursing needs to provide information about your clinical experience as a student including the type of clinical successfully completed and the number of hours in clinical. This is necessary to determine if your program was equivalent to a US Nursing Program. "

DOES THIS MEAN THAT I SHOULD START THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN? OR CAN I JUST SIMPLY MAIL THEM THE MISSING DOCUMENTS? WAAAAAHHH.. IM REALLY GOING CRAZY. I WAITED FOR THIS FOR 6 MONTHS. I DONT WANT TO START ALL OVER AGAIN. MY CONCERN IS... NEW MEXICO DONT WANT TO EVALUATE TRANCRIPTS AND RLE CERTIFICATES STARTING FEBRUARY 2008, RIGHT? DOES THIS MEAN I HAVE TO START AGAIN USING THE NEW PROCESS? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

Responded to your pm on the same topic, just look for it.

Transcripts are never, ever accepted from the nurse for any BON; they must always be sent in by the school directly.

Just have your school submit what is asked for in the mailing that you received from the BON. Since you applied before the new rules went into effect, then you are not under them. What is happening with your documents is why the BON has instituted their new rule of having the CES completed first so that they do not waste time when something is not complete in the first place when they receive it.

Your school's registrar may have simply missed sending the RLE. It happens.

How to know if this is so? Get a hold of your batch mates that applied on the same time as you did. If they were able to get the eligibility and you are the only isolated case then your RLE part of the transcript may have been missed being sent by the registrar.

If that is so, simply ask your registrar to send it again. They will prob. claim they did not miss it but NM BON does not have it so just send it again and since you applied months ago, the new rule does not apply to you but just re-send the supposed missing document.

Thank you for the information. It was really helpful. Love you guys. =)

hi. does anybody know when the duration of the eligibility starts? is it from the time they receive your application or from the time they make you eligible? i sent my complete application april 2007. i received my eligibility through email from ms. vidaurri june 2007. i know that the eligibility is valid for a yr but when does it start? is my eligibility valid till april 2008 or june 2008? help! i've tried calling nm bon but it's always the answering machine which picks up. when you leave a message, it's full. they don't respond to emails, too. i've tried looking in their website, but i didn't get any info. i've tried searching threads but i saw conflicting statements. some say it is from the time you apply, others say it's from the time your eligibility is given. hope someone reliable could enlighten me. help pls!

my opinion would be it starts from when you receive something saying you are eligible to sit the exam

as with the new NM requirements, does CES evaluates without a local license?

hello guys! we have the same question. or we should only explain why we are not taking the NLE?

i just received my fingerprint card this week

thanks in advance

All CES does is evaluate your nursing transcripts and ensure your training meets US requirements

i also happen to apply for new mexico but still im completing my requirements first before i send it to them.... well according to their packet which i downloaded from their website... it would take 2-3 weeks or a month before ATT will be given... it is really fast and your cousin have to prepare herself for the exams... im currently having my online nclex review here in general santos city....

also... their fingerprinting cards is different from other states... you have to request directly to the NM BON for the cards... and they are the ones who will evaluate your transcript... plus it is much cheaper to apply for licensure there in NM....

well i hope that will help you....

so keep in touch then... :)

hi mizukichan.. i happen to have questions regarding my nclex application for NM. since it's 2008, i was wondering if applying to new mexico is still fast, california seems to have bulks and bulks of applicants thats why i choose NM instead... but is it ok to work there?? we can apply for endorsement anyway. :D thanks in avance!

Think you will find NM are not as quick now due to high demand, have also changed slightly their application and if not complete will not process

First, there is no such thing as an NCLEX application, there is no way to apply for it directly.

And the rules have changed for NM. You must now submit a Credentials Evaluation to them first, they are no longer doing their own assessment.

So you are looking at four to five months to get approval to sit for the exam from them.

Why go thru endorsement and throw away good money if you are not going to be working there? You now have the added expense of the CES, which is over a couple of hundred US dollars to start right off.

And a reason that NM has gone to the CES because of the number of applicants that they were getting thru there.

You may wish to reconsider what you are planning to do.
