waiting list for Trinitas Hospital School of Nursing / Newark area nursing schools?

U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Hi, everyone:

I live in Newark, currently I am studying for a professiona license required by the job. I will be done in the Summer, I wish to go into nursing program in September. But I heard there is naturally average 2 -year waiting list for nursing programs? I am really worried.

I have a BA in other field already. I am thinking going to a community college ASD. Those acceralted programs requires full-time, and is not possible for me. Tuition is also a big issue, I cannot afford to go to private schools like Seton Hall, Bloomfiled, nor public schools like Rutger. Also I worked during the day, so I cannot go to Essex County College either, they only have day program.

My question is: I mostly interested in Trinitas Hospital school of nursing. Anybody know any waiting list there at Union County College?

BTW, I need to take almost all the pre-rquisite courses, so if there is a waiting list, can I take these pre-requisites during waiting time? or do I have to wait to take these courses too?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Did you look into Christ Hospital School of Nursing, Jersey City NJ? They offer a cooperative program with Hudson County Community College and offer morning and evening class. They have a high NCLEX passing average based on the last 5years and their clinical setting is conveniently located across the street. It's a tough a program to complete but it is worth it. Majority of their falculty graduated from NYU, Columbia and one of the instructors teaches at Trinitas. I would definitely look here as well. Good luck:smokin::coollook::hrnsmlys:

If you're studying and retaining the info well, look into you test taking strategy. Read the question and try to come up with the answer on your own before looking at ALL the choices. Make your timely educated guess and move on to the next question. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR ANSWERED QUESTIONS unless you are 1000% sure you made a mistake. In fact, don't even revisit them anymore because you will waste that time trying to prove you current answers wrong. Also, go into the test with a calm and cool head. Don't cram right before the test as this would add to an already stressful time and tire you out before the test begins.

thanks guys, i'm trying to study the handouts and do the med-surg success book and read only most important stuff from the book. last time i read a lot and i think it was just too much unnecessary information. we'll see what happens if i change my studying strategy ;) and i am trying to schedule a study group so hopefully next time i have better news :)

Hello,

I just turned in my application today at Union Community College and I am now hustling to get mt transcripts from high school and college sent to them. I am extremely nervous about getting into a program. I currently attend Bergen Community College, and to get inot their program is by pure luck, or "knowing someone higher up". I also put in a application for Holy Name School Of Nursing. I am basically at my last stop. I want to get in sooooooo bad somewhere, anywhere!!!! I only need to take Chem, Micro, Sociology, and Child Psych for my pre-reqa all others are taken!. I wanted to know how long it takes to get a letter for either denial, or an invitation to attend! I was at the Elizabeth Campus ...:bowingpur:nurse::typing:uhoh3: I am going crazy with all of these mixed emotions. Please someone, anyone give me some advice......

Try Mountainside Hosp School Of Nursing in Montclair! Their program is EXCELLENT! You can send me a private message if you'd like more info. They are the most cooperative staff I have ever met. Oh, no waiting list either.

Hi, my name is Kenya, I just applied to Trinitas 1wk ago. I got a letter saying I WAS ACCEPTED TO START SUMMER CLASSES AS A NURSING MAJOR. What does that mean? I currently atten Bergen Community College and have taken 5 of the 9 pre reqs there! Sm I able to star the actual Nursing courses in Sept?

I would give the admissions office a call and find out exactly what that means...

It wasn't too much for me, I took a&p1, micro and nure 130 together. I was busting my butt of the whole semester but ended with B+, B and a C+ so not bad considering the material covered. You really need to be able to devote a lot of time to this if you want to take them together, good luck!

for a&p take Sand, she is really good!

Just curious cookie monster how was 131 how did you do. Was it a struggle for you or did you end up with an average that you expected.

131 wasnt that big of a struggle for me, i ended up having a B+ and pretty much kept the same avarage troughout the semester, but 132 is really hard, i need to study more and i dont get grades in 80s anymore. Its really demanding becasue of all the material i lecture and paper work for clinical. Thank goodness for the med cards you can buy, so much less work to do!

Thank you for that information you have been really helpful. It's refreshing talking to someone who is not saying something negative about trinitas. Keep in touch with me if you don't mind b\c I want to know how you do. I have chem this semester which is going very well. I have a&p 1 summer with sand. i had an invite for nure 130 for spring 08 semester, but i deferred it for the fall hopefully i get my invite letter so i can start in the fall.

A quick question. I notice UCC in nj has an lpn program. Does it also have a waiting list? I am on the waiting list for both UCC and Raritian Valley.

Thanks

I'm starting 132 on Thursday, from what I have heard it's not going to be easy!
