waiting list for Trinitas Hospital School of Nursing / Newark area nursing schools?

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hi, everyone:

I live in Newark, currently I am studying for a professiona license required by the job. I will be done in the Summer, I wish to go into nursing program in September. But I heard there is naturally average 2 -year waiting list for nursing programs? I am really worried.

I have a BA in other field already. I am thinking going to a community college ASD. Those acceralted programs requires full-time, and is not possible for me. Tuition is also a big issue, I cannot afford to go to private schools like Seton Hall, Bloomfiled, nor public schools like Rutger. Also I worked during the day, so I cannot go to Essex County College either, they only have day program.

My question is: I mostly interested in Trinitas Hospital school of nursing. Anybody know any waiting list there at Union County College?

BTW, I need to take almost all the pre-rquisite courses, so if there is a waiting list, can I take these pre-requisites during waiting time? or do I have to wait to take these courses too?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Each semester is different, but they do use other hospitals in addition to Trinitas. They also use Rahway, Overlook, and Raritan Bay (Perth Amboy).

thanks for the info, it is helpful to know since i'm still deciding my class schedule. I overheard a friend saying something about it but i just wasn't able to ask her again.

Sorry for the trouble again, but I just want to know if it is true that if I take a morning lecture class, I'm suppose to take a morning clinical? is that true?

well, generally it's true that you choose to be in the program for either days, or nights/weekends. Day students typically take day lecture and day clinicals. Nights/weekends students take lecture on weekday evenings, (excpet for 130) and clinincal can either be either weeknights or Saturdays (if available).

That said, lectures for day and night/weekend students typically mirror each other (althought the lecture is given by different faculty). So the real deal is... except for test and quiz days, where you must attend the lecture for which you are registered, you may attend any lecture you want.

I will say, however, attending the lecture for which you did NOT register, is discouraged.

It is confusing, but hope this helps you.

When is the deadline to apply into Trinitas School of Nursing?

Sorry, I'm really not sure. I would call them directly...

NJGuy5 thanks for the information. :w00t:

Is it too much to take a&p1 chemistry and nure 130 in one semester

I attend union county and trinitas. Which teachers do you guys reccomend for a&p1 and chemistry. Anyone can answer this for me who attends Union county. Please help

do you think it is do able for me to do a&p1 chemistry and nure 130 in the same semester

well, my opinion is that is a pretty heavy load. Not completely un-doable, but difficult. As you progress in the nursing program, you will see that 130 was fairly basic, and in hindsight, in fact pretty easy. But that isn't the way it feels when you are in the course. Actually only about 50% of the class will pass.

Only you know if you can handle all three at the same time. To give yourself every possible chance to succeed, I would suggest you lighten the load.

I can't really suggest a professor selection for A&P, sorry. Maybe someone else here can...

Thank you so much nj guy you are always there for our questions I must say that.

What Nursing class are you in now.

By the way I have dunscombe for a&p1 and I have not heard good things about him but then some people have said he will help you understand bio which will help in nursing later on.

I could take chemistry for sp 08 then I could do A&P1 for summer 1 but I am not sure if it is a good idea to take a&p 1 in the summer. What are your ideas on that.

By dropping either science class would also mean i can not start nure 130 until the fall

Any AP in the summer will be a big challenge. API&II (aside from nursing courses) will probably be the most difficult courses you will take. Lots of memorization required... Only you know yourself, and and what else you are doing concurrently with school. Be realistic, and not overly optimistic. Only the best and brightest make it all the way thru Trinitas. I'm in 232.

hi,

i would recommend prof sand and prof oskov for ap1/2. i took sand for lecture and oskov for lab two semesters in a row. they are good. at least in my experience. i took micro in the summer and i hated it. quizzes every time you go to class. blah. i dont know how the other science courses run in the summertime.

130 isn't as intense as the other courses. i was sent the letter to start 130 in the spring, but defered til the fall, so i could get all my science courses done. thats just me. you only know whats best for you. I'm in 231 now. good luck with everything.
