Moral of THIS story NEVER EVER EVER put a nasogastric tube into a patient with a base of skull fracture.

Yes I must admit to cruising around that site looking at the Burns images and some of the others - a very very good site. And for those worried about HIPPA with an image like this one, when I FIRST saw it, it was on a Scottish Radiology site so the image has been around for a while - goodness knows where it came from originally. Sadly the person died but in this case the death has taught so many so much.

I'm fairly certain many of the images pre-date HIPAA. And, the others, have the permission of family/patient/entity/healthcare provider(s).

Yikes!!! I've seen some gruesome things, but that's near the top of the list. Imagine being the unlucky soul who put in the NG. Gotta show this site to the gang.

OMG! Maybe I'm not ready for this profession yet.

Really though, I have been around a few different trauma incidents, gave first aid at a couple, and the pictures seem to bother me more than the actual item. Is that weird?

Although I dont think the ER is my first choice of where I want to work (not just cause of the trauma's)
