What is the proper way to take off and put of ppe (gloves, gown, googgles, mask) and when do you wash your hands.

Also do you use a N-95 with all airbourne pts.

When they leave the room for droplet and airbourne do you have to put the surgical mask or particulate

only use that particular mask with TB

the N95 mask is used when droplet precautions needed not just for TB patients. I have used it for Swine and other instances as well.

Steps to remove PPE

This is what helped me.

1. Gloves

2. Goggles

3. Gown

4. Mask

5. Wash hands

Airborne precautions- N95 or particulate respirator mask, Neg pressure private room-Keep door closed oh... and client must wear a mask with transportation (surgical mask), remove PPE outside room and do not cohort. Ex: Rubeola, Varicella, TB, SARS and Smallpox
