What is a good state for the Rn nclex

when I was in nursing school we were all told that this is a national test, it's the same test no matter what state you take it in, is this no longer being passed on to students preparing to take the NCLEX? Did they let you believe that some states are harder or easier to take a test in? I hope not that would be very unfair to you, as it's completely untrue. National test, location is irrelevant.

I dont know if this is true. I heard florida is really hard, they even give you 3 chances to pass the test. If you fail you most do a refresher course. I heard New york is good. I actually remember the director saying that in one state SATA are graded partially. Like if you got 3/4 you would still get the credit. Not sure how true that is and why he would have that information but i will double check for you.

Everything you wrote is incorrect, with perhaps the exception that Florida allows only 3 attempts at the exam, which has nothing to do with the ease or difficulty of the exam, that is only the Board of Nursing's approach to dealing with multiple failures. To say that "they even give you 3 chances" is misleading; they ONLY allow you 3 tests before refusing you a license.

It is up to each and every state to determine what their requirements will be when it comes to getting a license. This varies from which schools are authorized to send transcripts to what additional courses or certificates must be completed prior to being granted a license. This includes the number of NCLEX attempts allowed.

SATA is not a partially-credited format of question. This is incorrect. Either the question is answered correctly or incorrectly, it is not "partially right" and no partial credit is given. ALL of this information is easily found on the NCSBN website. I have no idea what "director" would have given you all this wrong information but there it is.

You can take the NCLEX in any state in the country FOR any state in the country. You only get a license from any particular state if you apply and receive authorization to test from that state.

I can't believe this is what students are getting from their instructors about something as important as the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN! Remarkably off base.

Hi, thank you for replying, I appreciate your time. Yes it's true that Florida give you 3 chances if you failed the third time, you required to take a remediation course. That's why I'm not going through them anymore. Ok thanks please I'm waiting for your feedback about New York. Thanks

You aren't understanding something, it seems. New York DOES allow unlimited attempts at the NCLEX, which is why so many who can't get a license in another state seek one from New York. You CAN apply for a license from New York by going through the entire application process, fees, etc. If they accept your application and allow you to take the NCLEX, and then once passing you get a license from NY state, you can then apply to Florida for a license by endorsement. It's possible they will say No, but from what I can tell they never do. If you manage to get a license from New York you will likely be able to then get another from Florida.

All this is beside the point that you have to figure out WHY you have failed the NCLEX or you won't pass on the next go-round! It is NOT going to be an easier test, it is NOT different depending on what state you are applying for licensure from. IT IS the same test everywhere in the nation.

Review your Candidate Performance Reports to see what your problem in passing has been. Only then can you figure out a new study plan and a new approach or you will probably fail again. Good luck.

Read before you answer, I clearly said" I don't know if this is true" and that it might not be because NCLEX is a National test" You guys are real bullies on this site, Like I said before, I know for a fact NCLEX is a National test.
