Use of the whiteboard on the NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

I know is another of those silly questions...

Once you get into the room and you get that whiteboard thing, you can write anything you want on it right?

1, Can you wipe up everything on that board or is a paper base where you have to ask for more paper.

2. Do you have to return every word you write?

Thank you for your input!

I remember when I went to the test center, they said no "downloading" info...meaning, you can't put everything you remember on the whiteboard. Also, no eraser, so, whatever I wrote on it was turned in. I remember only using it for math questions.

mmm... thank you LVNinCali... so, you cant write Inf-Dis info?.. etc... wow.. that's a bummer!

EXACTLY! so, come prepared & ready! I wanted to put all the lab values I remembered on it but when I read the part about " no downloading info." I knew it was all up to my brain. lol.

good luck with your exam. You could do it! ;)

That was not the case for me. I tested in Florida and they never told me what I could or could not write on my board. As soon as I sat down, I wrote:

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2. Then I wrote my name, shecoolie, RN. Then I wrote EVERY SINGLE LAB VALUE I COULD REMEMBER right away! I kept tally of how many and what types of questions I had and jotted down my work for the math problems. The only they told me was to raise my hand if I filled up my board and needed a new one and I could not erase anything.

that is known as 'brain dumping' and it is explicitly stated in the pearson tos that it is a form of cheating. op do not do that. nothing is worth ruining your chances at getting a license.

as per the ncsbn website

the ta will provide you with an erasable note board and marker before you enter the testing room. you may not write on the note board until after the tutorial has been completed. this is considered “brain dumping.” clean note boards can be requested during your examination by raising your hand. the erasable note board and marker may not be removed from the testing room during the examination except by the ta, and these items must be returned to the ta after the examination.

Oops sorry OP. :/ I didn't realize that you couldn't they didn't mention it when I left and I got my license in the mail today.

Oh wow, I seen what Ohiostudent'RN stated, mmm... better dont take my chances, anything that could happen, it would happen... :(

Thank you'll

i understood it as no brain dumping prior to the start but once it started you could put what ever info you wanted to put on the white board....I wrote down lab values

Maybe i misunderstood. when i read the TOS on the candidate bulletin, that's what i got from it. I guess it really doesn't say you can't brain dump AFTER the tutorial.

you may not write on the note board until after the tutorial has been completed. this is considered "brain dumping."

i took this instruction that after the tutorial was completed you were free to write what ever.
