Tried the pearson vue trick, got the bad pop-up

Hi everyone, i'm new here. I just took my NCLEX-RN yesterday. And yes, i already claim that i failed at 75. I tried the pearson vue trick and I got the "bad pop-up". The moment I answered the 75th question, I felt that I did REALLY BAD because the question was too easy. I don't understand why, I had my saunders, kaplan and Lacharity for my reviewers. (I reviewed for a month) I finished answering the kaplan book (with CD) and Lacharity twice. And for the Saunders, I finished reading the book and answered some questions on the CD too.

I really feel bad for myself, knowing that I had my exam shut down at 75 (the last few questions were on the easy mode) The official result of my exam will be mailed to me after a month. (My state doesn't participate in the 2day quick results) So yeah, I was crying the whole day yesterday after I saw the "bad pop-up". They told me that I should wait for the mail to see the official result, but I have a STRONG FEELING that the pearson vue trick is RIGHT, I failed. I don't want false hopes. I can really tell that I did bad on the test. I feel really discouraged about what happened.

Oh I have one question to ask! How and where will I avail the kaplan online question bank? Is it worth it to avail? Thankyou very much for reading. I hope someone can answer my question and share your experience too!

Stay positive and focused. Final results aren't in yet. I personally did about 50% of the qbank. Some say its harder, but I feel that some of the question trainers where just as hard. I really only did them because it was a requirement from my program. When taking Nclex I was always able to narrow down my answers down to two and then based on what the outcome would be from each, I would make my choice. Even when I wasn't sure of the answer I would choose the safest one. Try not to overwhelm yourself. Stick to 2 or 3 (sources) at the most and practice questions. Keep us posted and best of luck.

Hey there, I took mine yesterday too, stopped at 91 and had a super easy delegation question as the last one. I also go the "bad" pop up and am just in a foul mood about it to everyone. PM me and we can dissect the test more if you want. I also know that there are some people who got the bad pop up and still passed. all I know is that I feel like a failure, I have a job riding on this!

How do you know what level your questions are?

Take my advice...if you feel as if you failed, you passed. If you walked out thinking "that was easy" you failed.

Just curious. I know about the PVT because I did it three years ago. I have a friend that will be testing soon and I told her about the PVT for when it's done. But what does the 'bad pop-up' say? Are you guys referring to going to the credit card screen or is there an actual pop-up screen that implies failure in some way?

The "bad pop up" is the credit card screen

The "bad pop up" is the credit card screen

^WHICH credit card screen ??

I say this because EVERYONE gets a credit card screen. If you put your info in, then it pops up and says "results on hold" or "No examination can be scheduled at this time. Please contact your state BON." (This is usually the good pop up)...If you don't go through the process of trying to re-register, you won't get a pop-up screen... few people don't go through this step and think they failed. The "trick" is not effective if you don't go through the while process...just sayin' :whistling:

Oh, well to my knowledge if it asks you for you CC info at all you fail. When I tried to re-register it wouldn't let me get past the school information step.

I took the test 2 days ago in the morning. Did the PVT as directed in previous posts. I got the "good pop up" (our records in indicate...contact member board...) one hour post NCLEX-RN. Did quick results 48 hrs. later- I passed. My friend who failed got the cc page. Three other classmates also took the test that day and all got the good pop-up and passed. *False-negatives have been known to occur. By the way, everyone I know left the test thinking we failed so I don't think that is a full proof indicator of pass/fail. I'm sorry for those who did not pass. The NCLEX-RN is horribly difficult, and I hope you all the best in future studies and test taking.

Also, before I forget. I did all of Kaplan including the live session (as it is required with my school). QT1-7 with scores of 60, 58, 56, 64, 70, 76, 73 respectively. Did 100% of Qbank and remediated 90% of it (my scores varied from 43%-80%). I did pass the NCLEX with 75 questions. On the other hand, I did not think that Kaplan test methods helped. Rather, the repetition of answering questions over and over again helped me to pass. So I think that the Q bank is a worthwhile investment. Just make sure that you re-mediate each and every single question whether you got it right or wrong. Once, I started doing that my test scores went up dramatically, as you can see above. Good luck!

I had to go all the way to the CC page and put the info in, then the "good" pop up happened.

Got the bad pop up and feel pretty terrible. I had 190 questions. Can see quick results by the end of Tuesday, I think. It just seems very daunting and shaming to think I failed. Plus, I really need a job. Nursing school was such a long, hard road, and one I really hoped was over.
