Took NCLEX today..stopped at 85 questions does this mean I failed?

Nursing Students NCLEX Nursing Q/A

I need some words of encouragement.. I am feeling pretty low My test stopped at 85.. It had a lot of the "check all that apply" doesn't that make the chances of getting it right lower? I hope I passed.. I am just really feeling afraid at this time. Help!

Take our NCLEX Shut Off Survey to help other readers who are interested in learning the likelihood of whether or not they've passed the NCLEX based on number of questions answered!

Yeah jcarro! You passed. Welcome to the land of nurses. Now just a bit of advice; as a LPN/LVN take the first job you can grab. Get your time in (6mo. to 1yr) then and only then will you be able to pick and choose where you want to work. Should think about furthering your education too. The best of luck to you. GR8LVN

Do you think how well you did in Nursing school will reflect how you will do on the NCLEX?

I know that seems like a dumb question, but I am just worried about the NCLEX. I take it next week. I did pretty good in nursing school, i had a 3.7 GPA, but i dont know if that will be my saving grace. I have been studying, but it just doesnt seem like I will pass. any input?

Leeae85,

Sorry this took sooo long.:zzzzz Anyway, in response to your question- yes silly one, the way you did in school has very much to do with how you will do on NCLEX. If you have learned the info. taught to you this will reflect on NCLEX. Remember to use your critical thinking. Relax and take some deep breathes. Everything will be good. The best of luck to you future nurse........GR8LVN

You'll want to start a separate thread for this question so you get more responses, but there are studies which show a strong correlation between GPA and NCLEX performance.

OK, I answered my own question....I PASSED the NCLEX-PN, and I had to answer ALL 205 questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!

I felt exactly the same way when I took my exam on thursday. I just knew I had failed.I had all 205 questions and like 50 all that apply questions, but I managed to pass, I still dont know how

no.. it does not mean that you failed if you stop at 85.. if you where doing really well then that is the reason why you would stop at 85. .. therefore just dont think that way becuz you have not gotten the results i know exactly how you feel.. well.. i took more than 2xs. just imagine the dreadful feeling of just taking the exam.. i still havent passed.. i worked hard. but i dont know whats wrong with me.. well good luck.

I took my NCLEX yesterday and also only had 85 questions.. I remember looking down at the screen and seeing I was on question 85.. I thought 'this may be it..." and then the screen just sort of went blue, then survey and what not. But I dont know how i feel about it. I must have called 10 people by the time I got back home.. got lost on the way home b/c i couldnt concentrate.. and then drove my family crazy for hours. I just feel like crying. I could only remember one question from my test and my mother, who is an RN says she would have chosen a diff answer. Im going to the beach tomorrow and dont know if i even want to know until i get back. Im so stressed! I know this is a common feeling.. but I just know i failed. So many people knew i took it yesterday... my work is holding a position for me.. and i had a 3.8 gpa in nursing school..... Im scared my nerves may have failed me....
