Took NCLEX Test May 15th..Got all 265 Questions

Was just curious if anybody knew the rule about when you get all 265 questions whether you pass or fail?? I remember the Kaplan lady explaining it. I think she said if the last question is a passing level question then it doesn't matter if you got it right or wrong. Does the last question have to be a "Select All that Apply" to be a passing level question? Would love to hear some input from people that have some knowledge on this.

Thanks...

and I know somebody is just going to tell me to do the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) but I don't have the $200 on my card to try that so that's out of the question and I took my test this Friday so I have to wait 48 BUSINESS HOURS till I can pay the stupid 8 dollars for quick results...

Check your state nursing board website. Search for your name Monday morning!

Yep I'm definitely doing that Monday morning but In the mean time I was looking if anyone in her had specific knowledge in regards to the 265 question thing. I remember Kaplan explaining it very well but forgot what the lady said...

There is no simple rule. You need to be above the passing level in all domains with a 95% statistical confidence level. Not all SATA are "higher level" questions. There is no guarantee that your last question is a higher level question. It's not that simple to say you definitely passed or failed. If you took the test on Friday check quick results today. I tested on a Thursday and my quick results were available Saturday morning.

If you have any type of visa/MC with any amount like $2 dollars on the card would work for the PVT you will get different error messages. Hope that helps! I hope you wake up an RN!!

My friend passed but did the PVT trick and didn't have the money available on his card and it returned back saying "insufficient funds." You have to have the 200 dollars available in your account for the thing to even go through. If you passed it will say Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time.”

I'm mainly looking for insight about the 265 question thing that the lady from Kaplan review had insight when you click on the video of her going over how the NCLEX test works. She talks about if the time runs up then they look at the last 60 questions but more specifically out of those questions the ones that are passing level. In my situation I got all 265 questions and finished in like 5 hours. She talked in depth about the situation about getting 265 questions and something about the last questions in regards to passing level questions.

I'm well aware of the PVT trick, the quick results thing on Pearson Vue, and looking up your results from your state BON.

The last 60 questions only refers to running out of time not getting all questions. These scenarios are described in the NCSBN website NCLEX FAQ's. It's a definitive source. There really is no simple answer to your query. Did you check to see if quick results are available today since you tested on Friday

This isn't working every attempt lately as there have been test charges/fund availability inquiries before you get the pop up screen. Many like the other poster stated got a card decline and in fact passed when they checked quick results or the BoN

Yes I know all about the last 60 question thing and running out of time as I specifically stated above. There is information about the 265 question scenario that Kaplan covers to the teeth. I just forgot what the lady says because my Kaplan membership expired. Yes you are correct about some of the people who did indeed pass and got their card decline because of insufficient funds.

You've gotten, I think, answers to everything you asked; at this point there is nothing more to tell you, really. Whatever it is it is. Pay for the Quick Results if they are available in your State and be done with it.

Good luck!

QUick results take 48 hours, not 48 business hours. You should be able to get them today!
