Test Shut off at 75 and I know I failed

You probably passed... I passed at 85 and I was like you... I literally left thinking I got maybe 5 right. Stay positive. Even if you failed, you can take it again :) that's what I kept telling myself before I took the exam. Best of luck to you!

I passed at 75 questions. I had 0 answers I was 100% sure about. My last question was ridiculously easy (yet, I was just about....80% sure about it), and that kept haunting me-- did the CAT really think I was THAT dumb? Still, my immediate gut feeling was that I passed (I even knew it was going to shut off at 75 because heck, either I rocked the ~35 SATAs it kept giving me or bombed them so hard), then I realized that was a terrible feeling to have because I've been told that if you feel like you passed, then it means that you failed and vice versa.

It was scary because I didn't even know what the heck else I'd do if I didn't pass, but I'd bet if things went that way, I'd figure something out...eventually. Fortunately, your opinion of your performance has no bearing on your actual performance-- even your board might not even know whether you passed or failed at this point. It's not over until you fail AND give up trying. Best of luck!

People have shared stories of passing the NCLEX with very few SATAs as well as failing with lots of SATAs.

Some of my SATAs kept asking about pretty basic infection control stuff. It did worry me that maybe I kept flubbing them, but fortunately, I was in a state of mind where that didn't really shake me too much during the test. (I used UWorld as a resource, and because UWorld is very similar to the NCLEX, there were times I'd forget I was taking the real thing so there were moments when I was inappropriately bored with the exam and just wanted to hurry it along lol)

I know it's a LOT harder to do than to just say it, but I do agree with you that you should try your best to not stress out too much. (I wasn't very successful at that. I tried to play it cool, but I had more than the occasional urge to puke throughout the wait and random bursts of "WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LET ME KNOW RIGHT NOW." I would've preferred to be put on propofol until the results were out, really.)

Silver lining! At least, it seems you're in a state where you get results in 48 hours! Some CA nurses have the pleasure of waiting WEEKS-- and the REALLY lucky ones even get to wait MONTHS-- to get their results! Imagine the thrill! lol

did you do the PVT?

So I took my NCLEX this morning and feel like I failed. There was NOTHING on there that I knew. Out of the whole 75, i think I maybe knew 3 or 4 questions. I finished all of the Kaplan Qbank questions with an average of 64% and also finished all the trainers. I'm just really fustrated because i feel like no matter how much studying I did, I would not have been prepared for that test. I will now have to wait the 48 hours out and see.

I took my exam on the 9th and passed with 85 questions. I also studied with Kaplan. Don't lose hope yet. I left the test site also feeling that way. I felt like I knew nothing and was sure with only a couple of my answers. The rest of my answers I derived by process of elimination and application of Kaplan's strategies. After the computer shut off, I was like... oh no, I failed. I was near tears. I was doing the PVT all throughout the 48 hour period and was getting the good pop up so I thought PVT was definitely inaccurate but was hoping in the back of my head that it was.

Then I find out I passed, I was in disbelief... more so that I was able to pass in 85 questions. Honestly I prepared myself and expected to do atleast 200 questions.

I will most likely have to wait until Tuesday for the quick results since its 48 business hours

Actually if you took the test Saturday, the quick results will probably be available on Monday. They say 48 business hours but I took my PN NCLEX on a Thursday and had my results on a Saturday. I took my RN NCLEX on a Friday and had my results on a Sunday. I was convinced I failed too when my computer shut off at 75 but I passed.
