Suzanne, thank you...

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have taken the NCLEX-RN for the 4th time, I studied 6 months and did Q&A everyday except Sunday.

My heart was broken, it was too much of a big deal for me for the reasons that

I got laid off from my job because of where the economy is going.

Passing NCLEX would really be a life saver, I'll have a better job

Now I am jobless, unemployed, and a possibility of being homeless

After the one hope that I thought would help me out to keep having a place to live in, I failed, I was disappointed, I don't want to be depress, I can't be, but I cried .

I didn't knew what to do, I hit myself, I wanted to die but I said no :nono:, it was really hard for me, and so I searched for answers.

Then I was typing something and came across allnurses, and actually what caught my attention was Suzanne's Plan, I don't know why, but it kept popping up.

I checked it and Suzanne's Plan gave me another hope, I have that positive attitude that with her guidance I will pass my NCLEX-RN for the 5th and FINAL time.

But it says I need Saunder's book 4th edition, so I said to myself ok I need to find someone to help me get that book, then I have ti follow the tip and have 15 posts so Suzanne would help me out.

I was full of hope, but just today while trying to get my 15 post, I saw a topic and some posts that Suzanne's Plan is no longer available :bluecry1:.

No words could explain what I feel, it really is a mix of emotions.

But like I said, Suzanne , hands down on you, you helped many people, and I understand that you are doing it voluntarily, and thank you that for a time being I was given a hope.

still jobless & unemployed

soon I might be homeless(just renting)

I remember that movie the pursuit of happiness, it's hard to live like that, sleeping in the public restroom.

I want to keep hoping, I wanted to take another shot at the NCLEX-RN exam, I know someone out there (not here)would help me with the fees for taking the examination, I really need someone to help me out to prepare like what Suzanne did to some of the folks here.

So your help would really be appreciated very much. Thank You in advance.

If you must move out of your rental, try to find a place to store your belongings. If you put them in a storage facility, you might find one where you can sneak and spend the night in your locker. But you have to be careful about this as it is not allowed and you don't want to get kicked out for trespassing. Sleeping in your car is a better option than a public restroom. You don't want to become an assault victim. Park your car in dark areas. This tip came from a cop. He said that criminals target people who are sleeping in their cars and you don't want to be seen for this reason. If you have a membership at 24 Hr Fitness you can go there for your personal hygiene needs, shower, etc. You might find a sympathetic employee who will let you spend the night if you make it look as if you are working out. If you can afford it, get a mailbox at one of those mailbox places and use this as your address for job applications. Of course, a cell phone works for a phone. Of all the social service agencies, Salvation Army is the best about not turning people away. Perhaps you could approach them for assistance with funds for the NCLEX. Good luck.

Noticed you are using the title RN in your screen name. Are you an RN in another country?

yes i am an rn from another country, i actually am aware of the financial help to help me take nclex again, but what i wanted is a good plan to taking it.

i have taken it the 4th time and none of the strategies that i applied worked.

first it says on kaplan is not to over analyze, all that you needed is in front of you,but when i took it, it's something different.

-- like a patient with an open tibia fracture, it did not say in there that the pt. is bleeding, so should i assume the pt is bleeding?

--or the one that had been in a car accident, and then the pt is heaving headache and nausea, should i assume that the pt have an increase icp?

so really that confuses me., i tried many strategies, and it didn't work. was hoping to get suzanne's plan but is not available anymore, and no one would want to share it because one of the moderator said that it's suzanne's intellectual rights, and i totally respect that.

even if i don't have it, i believe that it is some kind of a legacy that she left, great legacy that really did help a bunch of people pass their nclex.

i was just hoping that there are other rns out there that also have a good heart that would also do what suzanne did for the community here in allnurses but most especially for the family of the new rn she have helped, she just help someone to change their lives.

so if there would be someone out there that have a good heart, willing to help out, have a plan similar to or better than suzanne's plan and would like to share it please send me a message. oh i can't afford review classes online so yeah if it's like that of suzanne that you need the saunder's and then from there giving out tips and some tutorials.

if need be you can contact me

Practice questions. Make sure you understand the question and can pick out what is really is asking. Read the rationales as that will back you up and if you was reading it wrong will point out how to read the question. Do not over study that can just be as bad as not studying enough. Give your brain change to assimilate what it is ready and learning

I worked full time when I studied for the exam and I trained in the UK back in 1986 so I had experience I had to forget as the exam is aimed at new grads. During the week when I worked I studied for 2 hours a day and on the days I wasn't working I did 4 hours broken up into 2 2hour sessions. You have to pick something that suits you but like I said in previous post do not over do it

I am so sad. I came across this post. I finished suzanne's first tip and was about to pm her. I read that her plan is not available and it broke my heart. I have poured my heart into this. I had high hopes. Now i don't know what to do. Please help me. I don't know what do do next. Should i reread the whole saunders book again? I am confused. Whoever has a kind heart. please please help me. What will i do next?

I am also in middle of her first tip... I failed my nclex and am trying to retake it.. if there is anyone out there that can share her tips..pleeeeeeeeeaaase... i really need to pass the test otherwise i will also be homeless. thank you.

Please read what I wrote in post 4. It gives you some ideas on what to do to study for the exam. Practice questions make sure you understand what is being asked

Thanks for the tip SD, I was reading and sometimes I do not even understand what I am reading anymore.

Thank You

Dear fellow nurses,

It must be very hard for all of you who are still trying to pass this NCLEX exam, I've been in your shoes before. I passed my test on my 3rd try using Suzanne's plan, I was lucky enough to get her plan. I do not want to disrespect her wish, so my advice would be just go through Saunder's 4th edition book on each chapter, and practice the questions on the CD that comes with the book.

Don't cheat yourself, if you feel that you are weak in certain areas then you need to read on those chapters and practice on the questions in the back of the chapters. Do not over do it, study for about 2-3 hours a day and you must be consistent. Try not to slack off.

Remember your ABC's, get the LA Charity PDA book, it helped me alot on those questions which are considered higher level questions. Good luck, may God be with you.

thank you

perhaps you need a short break to regroup mentally. sounds like too many stressors going on right now. do like silverdragon said above, 2-3 hours a day, read and understand the rationals to the questions. read the whole chapter in the nclex reveiw book if weak in that area. you may also want ot try reading through some of the random facts sticky. hang in there.
