HI!

I'm not sure if you took a mandatory exit exam before graduating, but they say that you should schedule to take the NCLEX as soon as you are comfortable & not wait too long, because everything's still fresh in your mind from nursing school. I took the NCLEX exactly 1 month + 1 day after my graduation date & I would have chosen to take it sooner, but that was the only available day left in June. In my opinion, if I were to wait longer, I would just build up with more anxiety, & I obviously passed on the first try.

Kaplan is structured in a more difficult manner. I took the review course, because my school mandated it. But, if you ask me, I was more confused walking out of it, as I did better on their pretest than posttest. I liked Mosby a lot & Saunders was ok.

Only you will know whether or not you are ready to take the NCLEX. But, I would suggest taking it as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just take it. You might be pleasantly surprised. If you don't pass, then you can settle down to a plan of action to get it the second time. Good luck to you.

Like Nike says "JUST DO IT". I think you should take it while all this stuff is fresh in your head, the longer you wait, the more you will stress yourself out.

It will at the very least let you know where you stand, but the truth is that no matter how much you study, you will still walk in there feeling like you are not ready, and walk out feeling like your life is over, but like 89% of us, you will probably pass.

So I say, go for it! Take the dive :smiletea2:

Hello Jeffrey,

Sounds to me like you're ready. I just took Kaplan review about 2 weeks ago and I'm Scoring in the 50's and up. They say if you don't get above 65, to review the content for those areas. I didn't do well on the diagnostic, couldn't concentrate, neighbors allergies were bothering her. I did get 61% on th readiness exam. The instructor said that you would more than likely pass if you got 60 and above. I can't rely on that knowing that I didn't do well on the diagnostic. I'm going to review material for the sections that I got below 65 on. I have also done Saunders review book. The questions in that book are too easy. I don't think the Nclex will be like that. If I we're you I would take the exam. Good luck.

I would say you are ready! I only did question trainers 5,6, & 7 b/c I didn't have a lot of time and I got a 63%, 62%, & 62% and I passed the nclex with 75 questions (took it last friday). Honestly, the nclex questions are exactly like Kaplan- you'll do fine!

Good luck!

You'll pass because you are taking on my birthday

I do believe that the sooner you take, the better. It is tiring to study all the time and at least if you do not do well, you'd have the stamina to go for it again. I took mine just about 2 months after I graduated. At least it will be over and the experience will be behind you!

My goodness! You're more than ready to take the NCLEX. Suggested score for Kaplan is 65, but I was averaging 55% and passed. Most of my classmates were scroing 55-60's and passed. If you're doing above the 60's percentage, you'll do fine. Just practice a little till the week of your exam. The day before you exam.. DO NOT DO ANYTHING related to nclex, just relax. Trust me, no one ever feels "ready" for the NCLEX, don't postpone it. Just go for it. You'll do fine!

Dear guys! I would appreciate any help especially from international nurses.

I'm from Ukraine and I graduated more than 10 years ago so I almost forgot all stuff. This year I passed CGFNS with the score of 650 our of 800. I had NCLEX today and I think I failed it. It shut down at 75. The questions were mostly about symptoms and there were like 30 questions of all you can select. I had Kaplan course, I had passing results both on readiness and diagnostic tests and I scored up to 70 on Questions Trainers.

HOW DID I GO DOWN SO QUICK? The questions were completely different than those at Kaplan. How can I prepare for theM? How can I memorize all the symptoms? Especially for select all that apply type of questions?

SO how is that possible that I scored so high on Kaplan and I failed so miserably? What should I do?

I learned almost by heart all Kaplan, did like 6000 questions. What should I do now?:bowingpur

hi i understand how u feel..i think they gave u difficult questions coz u answered it right from d very beginning..i took mine last yr but i didnt have SATA,calculations..i have priority n delegations .. i have that symptoms type of questions too and it freaked me out coz everything was correct ..it stopped at 75... den i found out that i failed...of course there's questions that surprised me coz the disease seems new to me n other medications too... im hoping u pass.....just wait for d result..whatever it is dont lose hope......

Hi, thanks for reply and comfort. So, what happened to you? Did you eventually pass it? What are you gonna do? Did you graduate from US school? Did they really teach you well all that stuff like symptoms?
