Ran out of time nclex

Took nclex RN. Ran out of time at 158 questions. Had 23 sata and one math and one box with a chart. Has anyone experienced this ? I'm not sure how they grade it if you run out of time. I know they say they look at the last 60 and you have to be in the passing but if the computer couldn't make a decision then how does that make sense . Hmmmmmm

They grade off of the last 60 questions. If you are below passing in those 60, you fail. If you were above passing, you pass.

They take the last 60 questions. Not sure where confusion lies. If you're above that line on the last question with a pattern of passing level questions, you pass. It's just like if you had passed in 75 questions.

Not quite. All of the last 60 items have to be above the passing level. If one of the last 60 items falls below the passing level, then it is a fail.

The NCSBN R.O.O.T. Rule covers this.

When you run out of time before reaching the maximum amount of items, the computer has not been able to decide whether you passed or failed with 95% certainty and has to use an alternate rule.

• If you have not answered the minimum amount of items, you fail.
  
• If you have at least answered the minimum amount of items, the computer reviews your last 60 ability estimates:
  
  • If your last 60 ability estimates were above the passing standard, you pass.
    
  • If your ability dropped below the passing standard, even once, during your last 60 items, you fail.
    

This does not mean you must answer the last 60 items correctly. Each ability estimate is based on all the previous items that you have answered.

They have to be manually graded, I believe, because you did run out of time.

I haven't taken the test yet and I don't want to be rude but how do you run out of time? Isn't there a clock telling you how much is left?

The clock can be hidden as well.

I have test anxiety, so when I took my boards I hid the time and amount of questions in order to reduce my anxiety.
