Prepping for the NCLEX in Idaho

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello, I am a fourth semester nursing student in College of Southern Idaho, and planning on completing the program in May and taking the NCLEX in about a month or so after? What are your intake on how long to take to prep for the big test, what books work the best...there is just so much out there? Any advice

Welcome!

I moved your thread to the NCLEX foum someone will be along to help you Browse this forum there is plenty of good advice.

thank you so much can you tell I am new to this

If that is your real name, you might want to change to an anonymous screen name. Never a good idea to put real names on any forum.

No one thing works for everyone. What does your school recommend?

You should probably have something for content and another something for test taking strategies. I used Kaplan and Saunders and passed. Others swear by Hurst or something else. If your school uses a test prep and you are comfortable with it, you may want to continue with that, or you may want to change focus. Only you know how you learn!

Prioritization and Delegation book by LaCharity. That book was super helpful! I took boards today and am so glad I had used that book. Also, a good medication study guide.

How does one find the Nclex forum? Thanks in advance

Thank you for the advice! and congratulations on passing!

Hurst Review + Saunders Compre are both good on content review. While Linda LaCharity and the NCLEX-RN Mastery app (which is a hidden gem) are the only ones I used for my Q&A to pass the NCLEX. 😊

I took about 10 days off after graduating to enjoy spending time with friends and family. I then took the Hurst Live Review course (with 30 day access) and tested exactly 30 days after the review. I studied the hurst materials as well as did as many Kaplan quizzes on quizlet as I possibly could. Passed NCLEX on my first attempt. Best of luck to you on the rest of your final semester and your upcoming nclex!!

Thank you, can I just find these books on like amazon or where can I find them?

That sounds like a great plan! I want to do something similar I do not want to go more than a month after graduating before taking it, I suck at testing and it seems like I forget things easily so I definitely need to study a lot! and take right after before I forget stuff. Thank you I sure can't wait to be done!
