Passed NCLEX on 4th Attempt!!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am officially an RN!

I have failed nclex 3 times and passed on my fourth time.

I tried everything including Kaplan, Hurst, NCSBN, NCLEX 4000...You name it, I did it. None of those worked for me.

The one thing that helped me pass this time was I hired a tutor via Skype.

She basically gives you 120 questions through out the 10 hours. So she goes through about 12 questions every hour. I did 4days/week for the 2weeks RIGHT before my test.

She taught me how to answer questions. What to look for in a question and answer. AND how NCLEX wants you to answer. FOLLOW HER CONCEPTS!! YOU WILL PASS!

Alot of her questions were like the NCLEX! She can tutor you from anywhere in the world via Skype!

I also went over the 35 page review from allnurses the one that has "MY CHICKEN HEZ TB" and "SPIDERMAN" infection control.

And another thing that has helped me was the 97 page review on youtube.

It cost $50...Alot of topics on my NCLEX was on the 97 page review.

I had 265 questions.. alot were priority, infection control, SATA, EKGS, Meds, and Psych.

I took breaks and I was very calm through out the test. I took 3 breaks during my last 20 questions. I took my time reading the question BEFORE looking at the answers. Once I picked an answer I did not change my mind.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Good Luck to you all!!

Don't Give up. Hard work pays off!!

If I can do it, so can you!

how did you study for medication questions? i recently took my exam and I got a bunch of meds that Ive never heard about, event the endings of the name did not help me to recall. How did you answer questions in which you had no idea what they were talking about?

If I didn't know the med they gave me, I looked at the answer choices and picked the safest answer.

Most med they gave me I was somewhat familiar with.

But dont stress to much over the meds because you cant know it all.

The meds I studied were on the 97 page review from you tube.

Here are some ways I studied:

Some meds like psych meds can cause muscle problems ..like twitching, tremors etc.. that is a sign of overdose=toxcity..

Ace inhibitors severe side effect can be laryngospasm=blocks airway...this is an emergency

Viagra and nitrates dont mix.

Don't take iron with milk

Protect nitroglycerin from sunlight

Check pulse before digoxin

Don't give more than 20mEq of potassium under ANY circumstance

Some meds interact with grapefruit

MAOI- low tyramine diet

These are just a few things i studied.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Congrats on becoming a RN! My 3rd attempt to pass was August 20th. Like you, I have done Hurst, Kaplan and NCSBN in addition to reading Saunders and doing tons of questions from every place I could find them as well as those with the programs purchased. The CPR from the last test showed I was above standard in 2, at standard in 2 and below in the rest. I simply don't know what to do next that will help me to pass. I thought about the**********program but was skeptical of the quality, plus the cost is pretty high especially when it was such as strain just to come up for the money to register to retest a 4th time. Do you think the caring4you program really was the one that helped you the most to pass the NCLEX? Would you please email me at doodle.rn@gmail.com to discuss the program with me further? Thank you.

Congrats!! I am a repeat test taker. I purchase the 97page study guide. It has helped me out alot as far as content..

did the 97 page study guide really helped you for the exam? did it help you for the medications and prioritizations? i dont wanna waste my money buying it just to find out nothing on it helps for the exam...

@xaldin4life....it helps alot with content....i.purchase the 97 study guide after i failed on my 1st attempt...My friend also purchase the study guide and she is using kaplan to study for nclex her kaplan scores were ranging from 33-43% since she purchase study guide her scorea are 65-71%.

I have a question do you think the tutoring in itself helped or the 120 questions along with the 8 essential concepts video? Would studying the 120 questions and the 97 page study guide enough to pass

Yes I feel like it helped me for the exam.

The 97 page reviews covers important topics and just enough information for nclex.
