Nclex shut off at 135 questions

Hi everyone, I just took the Nclex-PN earlier and the computer shut off at 135 questions. I'm so worried, I heard the less question you do are higher the chance of passing. I had over 60 select all that apply, along with some many medications. I know I'm weak at Pharmacology, the main reasons why I did focus on that topic before testing. But the medications I saw today was ridiculous, I have never seen or heard of before. I had no cardiac question, and 1 math problem. Anyways I just know I failed that test. I'm so disappointed with myself! I been studying over 3 hours 5 days a week.

Nope, not true. Someone could have done spectacularly bad, or spectacularly well, and both times, it will shut off at 75.

What the number of questions you get means is simply that the computer has determined within a 95% certainty that no matter how many more questions you get, you will pass or fail. The number of a certain type of alternate format questions (liked SATA) is irrelevant because those questions can be written above or below passing standard. Many people leave the exam center convinced they failed only to learn that they did indeed pass. People pass at the minimum number of questions, maximum number of questions, and every number of questions in between. How did you do in school and on exams? That's more likely an indicator of how you did than just feeling like you failed. Before you get so disappointed with yourself, have the official results.

Thank you everyone for the advice.By the way I also tried the trick , exactly why I'm a nerve rack right now. Anyways I'll just wait 48 hours for the results.

I can't figure out why people do the PVT and then continue to freak out. Either you believe it works and you have your answer or you believe it doesn't work in which case why do it at all?

Yes, Djina, all you really can do is wait for the official results. It's the only answer that matters. The number of questions doesn't tell you anything here, no one can really make a realistic guess. Good luck!

The only thing that means is your test shut off at 135 questions. You will not know definitively until you have your license from the BON.
