NCLEX RN four times PASSED

Nursing Students NCLEX

First I would like to say that I'm officially a registered nurse as of Nov 2014. The road wasn't easy and it took alot of willpower and dedication. I am posting this primarily for individuals who are in a position where they've failed the NCLEX numerous times. My advice to you all is to NEVER...EVER GIVE UP. I took the NCLEX back in January 2014 and failed at 265. To be honest i was not prepared. I read Saunders did about 500 questions and took it. That attempt was a lesson learned. Then I attempted for a second try in March 2014...same thing happened again. Instead I did Kaplan along with all Q trainers and even the review course. Studied everyday religiously but still failed at 265. At that point in time I needed to make more adjustments. Maybe it wasn't techniques I needed. Instead for my 3rd attempt I did content, with Saunders and Kaplan Q trainers. August 2014 I sat for my boards and failed again at 98 questions. By that point in time I was devastated. I had to turn down so many jobs that were lined up for me. I wanted to go back to school but couldn't. I felt embarrassed and isolated myself from friends and family. I was also depressed for quite some time. Despite all of this I still remained focused. I developed a strong faith with God. I PRAYED EVERY DAY and decided that I would study even harder. I purchased LeCharity delegation and prioritization and EXAM cram. I took time off from work which was about 2 weeks. I did both books entirely and the Saunders book as well. Nov 2014 I sat for my boards and it shut off at the dreaded 265!!!!! I freaked out. I prayed like there was no tomorrow. 48 hours later I checked my status and I passed. Total attempts: 4 times!!!! So yes !...you can do it as long as you keep attempting. NEVER LOSE FAITH. DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN! Also don't believe the hype the Nclex is not easy. When you take the exam don't get frustrated if the questions are hard....that's a good thing! It means your'e at the passing level. Don't go in there thinking you'll be done at 75. Keep an open mind and try your best! Take your breaks ...do some breathing exercises. ..most importantly BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. :)

congrats...im so what in the same boat...looking to retake the dread monster again soon....you're right its all about stragety.....once i'm done with Hurst for content...i plan to focus the next couples of weeks on questions...i have to learn not to look into the question so much...thanks for your post

Congratulations !

Wow congrats!! :)

Whoa, congrats!!! Like you said, never give up! I am a Canadian nurse practicing in Canada, i took the US nclex exam in April 2013; just in case. I studied over 4weeks with the Saunders book and an ATI app on my phone; and i passed at the first attempt at 78 questions. Congrats again!

Congratulations RXdude. You are truly my inspiration. You are a true example of, the race is not for the swift nor the battle to the strong, but to those that endures to the end. Enjoy your success Nurse. Soon this will be me. Thank You for the encouragement.
