I haven't seen any posts that mention psychiatric or mental health questions on PN or RN NCLEX. For those who have taken either (especially PN) were there many or any of these type questions? THanks
The NCLEX exams are no longer separated into Med/Surg, OB, Peds, Psych, etc. like they were prior to 1982. The "psych" type questions now fall under "psychosocial integrity" and make up 8 - 14% of every NCLEX-PN and 6-12% of every NCLEX-RN exam. The reason some candidates believe the exam had no psych questions, is because questions related to psychosocial integrity encompass more than just mental illness. Also included are questions about grief, cultural issues, stress management, therapeutic communication, body image changes, sensory changes or deficits (blind, deaf, etc.), religion, end of life issues, etc.
