Hello everyone, I took my exam on 9th. I came home and pop up didn't work, I had put a post here and was suggested to wait for official results. I got them today and it said I failed yet again! I just don't know what to do? Where to study from? My second time I had tried Kaplan, last few times studied on my own, this time had a tutor and bought ncsbn but only did little but out of it. I just don't know where I'm going wrong. I feel so bad for my parents who are soo supportive yet I keep giving them same news. PLEASE HELP ME. I WOULD REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

I live in philadelphia, if someone wants to team up to study.

I feel soo devastated, I just keep asking myself if I'm really a failure? How can I not do this in 7th time! How dumb could I be??

You are not dumb. The test is just super hard. I took a review court called ready to pass. But I'm not sure if they have it where u live or not. But I think they are really good. I also have study guide That nurses from this website sent me. If u don't have it yet, give me ur email and I'll send it to you. Good luck and keep trying! One thing helped me the most is praying, because god will be there for u if you ask. Keep your head up k!

Thanks alot. I haven't been able to stop crying. I'm so lost I don't know where to even begin to study.

I hate putting my parents thru all this. Seeing them sad and in tears is making me feel more more like a loser!

Why don't you look at getting a tutor. They can help break it down for you.

You can do this. You just have to trust yourself/brain more. I believe that when ppl have to take the exam more than once, they/we develop of mental block of fear, which ultimately causes us to fail. YOU can and will pass it but you must trust yourself.

Sakshi, take some time off to decompress your current predicament. I cannot imagine how hard this is for you. Please don't give up and DO NOT focus on the fact that you've had a 7th fail result. This you can no longer control and change. Going forward, put all your efforts to understanding your strengths and weaknesses, how to study smarter, understanding how the NCLEX RN is written and how to effectively answer NCLEX questions.

Find the right book that best fit your learning type. Are you a visual learner? Are you a hands on learner? Audio-visual learner? I graduated 18 years ago and took NCLEX RN exam for the 2nd time on Dec 17 and passed with 88 questions. What did I do differently this time? I stuck with 1 book (MaryAnn Hogan), only used Saunders or Exam Cram for further clarification or if I needed a different perspective to better understand content. Before and after reading each system, I used NCLEX 4000 and NCLEX 10,000 (PrepU) for questions. This enhanced my comprehension and retention.

In addition, I kept a notebook and handwrote key concepts, meds, nursing actions, etc (by system). I have easel papers (looks like a huge sticky note) all over my walls with concepts such as lab values, therapeutic levels, Infection control, etc. Since I see it everyday, it helped with retention instead of memorization. I followed a structured and disciplined study schedule generated from taking pre-diagnostic test from Mary Ann Hogan's book. I had NO social life for 4 1/2 months.

Two weeks before my exam, I read Kaplan 2012-2013 Strategies, Practice and Reviews with CD ROM....cover to cover, no skipping pages. I made sure I understood the rationales, why I kept choosing INCORRECT answer, and had to shift my thought process to that of the NCLEX way. And I really struggled with choosing between the answer I think is correct vs. the NCLEX answer. I fought and fought but ultimately realized that I needed to give in or else I would not pass yet again.

You have all the resources available to you, you've taken the exam...use this to your advantage. Read the test plan and understand what the NCLEX is all about https://www.ncsbn.org/1287.htm.

Good luck to you and stay positive!

@ readyforchange: this time I had a tutor since jve been out of school for 3 years he started with teaching content. English isn't my first language so he even made a word bank for me. He gave me all his notes and books to read the content from. AND then had me do Saunders questions.

@begosh, Thank you sooo much, i will do as you said. I'm planning to go local book store tomorrow and get some nclex books from there. Or maybe buy from ebay or amazon.

Thanks alot for all your help

Did you earn your degree in this country? If so, I'm really wondering how you made it through a program. 7 times is quite a lot. I don't mean to sound harsh. Unless, we are strictly talking about a language barrier.

@profrn: I did get my degree here I've an associate. No it's perfectly fine, I know it's my fault that's why this keeps happening, so I'm open to anything amd everything someone has to say here. Because I'm in desperate need of help!

Hi sakshi. I too have failed the exam yesterday. It was my first take though. Iv been crying hard. Lol. Im a foreign graduate too. Anyway, im planning on taking up hurst. Coz iv read that it would really help when you lack understanding about certain concepts. You check it out. Then maybe we could talk sometime and become study buddies. :)
