Did I fail the NCLEX?

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the NCLEX yesterday and I feel horrible about it. My stomach has been in knots and I couldn't sleep all night. My test shut off at 75 questions, I was really hoping it would keep going to make me feel like I had a good chance of passing. My test was all over the place, SATA (not tons like everyone else claims), drag and drop, picture, med calculation, med questions, priority, delegation, a couple maternity, documentation, etc. Does it sound like I failed? I'm so devastated. I didn't do the PV pop-up, too much of a chicken :(

Its hard to predict the results with just nature of the questions. You should do PVT to make yourself less anxious.I know its hard but at least you would know how did you do in your test.If you chose to wait for official results then Good Luck with that. You are gonna be fine..Just have faith:up:

This is exactly how I felt and exactly what my test consisted of. I got the good pop-up and I was shocked because I totally thought I failed. Will find out for sure tomorrow.

CONGRATULATIONS

Mine is just 19 days left

I took mine yesterday too, and also had 75 questions. They say if you come out feeling horrible, then you probably did well. I felt horrible and I did the PVT, and I got the good pop up. I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow, but I'm still very nervous!!!

You did it!!!!

I took the NCLEX yesterday and I feel horrible about it.

I don't know how your state works but in AZ we were able to get results within 24hrs. All we had to do was log on to the state board, type in our name, and click on "get details" and it said passed or failed. So if you did the test yesterday you would be able to check today! Maybe your state has the same thing? Just an option! ;) I'm sure you did fine! Every person I know that took it (including myself) felt sick and horrible afterwards but we all made it! Good luck! Let us know how it went!!

Someone one told me to try this: go back to the pearson website and try to reregister to take the test again. If it won't let you, if it says you already have a file or something to that effect...I was told it meant you had passed.

This maybe an urban legend, but I did it anyway and it wouldn't let me reregister-said I already had a file- and the next day...

found out I PASSED!!!

So, if you want to test the legend, give it a try!

P.S. I have not yet met anyone whose test shut off at 75 that didn't pass! That's what happened to me. I too felt the test was all over the place.

My friend took her NCLEX-RN today. She said she only had 6 SATA, a few exhibits, and a couple of ordering. She did the PVT trick and got the good pop-up. She'll get her quick results on Friday (the day I test lol), but the PVT has a good track record. You can't really judge test results based on the types of questions you get. They're written as either passing or failing level questions.

And even at that, don't get caught up in if the questions seem easy or not. What you might think is easy might be written and counted as a higher level passing question!

I can understand you not wanting to do the trick. If you won't, just take a deep breath and pray for serenity. You've done your best, try to relax for now.

I failed at 75 questions. The number of questions does not determine pass/fail. I had several SATA, delegation, priority, put in order, picture, one drug calculation. My test was all over the place too! So it is possible to fail at 75...but I am hoping you passed:)

Pearson Vue trick works. Everyone in my class, including myself who got the good pop up passed : ) You should try it.

I'm aware this can happen, and, I'm sorry it happened to you. Frustrating!

When I found out I had passed, when I had looked up several questions and found I had gotten the answers wrong, all I could think was "What a strange test!!!" and "What did that prove?". Especially when it cuts off at 75, and you pass, then start thinking about how few questions were asked that were actually about things that keep a patient alive...much like exam questions in nursing school...mind boggling!
