Are you referring to a question in the Kaplan material or just overall what the review states? I'm asking because if they are two different questions then there may be some information in each that makes one answer right over the other in each situation. When it comes to NCLEX think about your ABCs and read the question carefully to find the most correct answer in that situation.

I agree with the PP. I remember studying similar questions and thinking that doesn't make sense. However, the questions although pretty similar are most likely slightly different, maybe even by one word which is where the different answers come into play. Again, for NCLEX go with ABCS (airway, breathing, circulation, safety). Best of luck- and don't stress too much on this single question, chances are you won't even see it on your test!

jlynn167 I had have done this question in Kaplan Crisis sickle cell anemia the only obvious answers was hydration... Lacharity the only obvious questions was oxygen it depends on what the stem of questions asks too.. Do the 30 sample quiz of priority in Kaplan I did it and I got 80% I was so happy the Lacharity book helped me preparing for the board!!! My nclex this weekend! Best of luck!

For the NCLEX (and Kaplan) pain is never the priority, even though it is a priority in the real world. Pain is only a priority on the exams if it directly causes the health concern. Read the stem of the question, it will guide you to the answer.
