Average KAPLAN scores and passed NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just want to post this for the people who were in my position. I have never had so much anxiety before. When i did Kaplan i felt they have very good strategies. But I was very scared because I did not get really good scores.

My diagnotic test was a 58% and the Kaplan people said it should be around 65. My question trainers were very bad.

QT1 49%

QT2 48%

QT3 49%

QT4 49%

QT5 52%

QT6 54%

QT7 58%

Never got to that 65%

My q bank average was 55%

I just want to tell those people who feel like they aren't doing good enough that its ok. Just keep doing question read every rationale and even why the answer is wrong! This helped me out much better than just reading or watching the videos.

If you took the Kaplan class i suggest you also watch the videos of the questions because the video told me info that the kaplan teacher forgot to mention.

Do all the Qbanks and go over all the rationales. I though I was going to fail, my test stopped at 75. So I thought "yep I failed!" I did not have that much confidence. So please I hope this gives some of you a peace of mind that you can do it. Oh and just in case your wondering Kaplan was the only review course I took.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you all pass.

Thank you for listening!

HI Heather424, Good luck!! that's a good thinking being positive- I think you will do fine- I'm enrolled on Kaplan course too- still finishing the QB kind of disappointing because I never get to 65% as they said but I it help to know their strategy- A fellow reviewer just took the NCLEX advice me just to focus on each choices closely and take your time as she passed in 75 questions in Kaplan her scores are on the 45-50% she just applied the strategy the best she can and use her time wisely w/ no rush- best of luck- let us know how it goes!! You can do it!!

thank you depress nurse :)

congrats to your friend and good luck to you as well .. it is enlightening to know it is not just a few of us out there who are wondering the same.. i see there are more people with below 65% scores that pass... so we'll see... thank you for the advice... i will try to keep up the positive outlook and you do the same :lol2:

i take my nclex tomorrow! i focused mainly on kaplan, watched their videos, did all qbank and qt, average in high 50's to 60's. I am so anxious, but i have hope! i felt that my scores weren't good enough.. but i don't want to postpone this any longer. I hope i pass... i really don't wanna take it when it get harder!

i have to stay positive!

I CAN DO THIS! I AM READY! I PASSED NURSING SCHOOL! I PREPARED WELL! I HAVE THE SUPPORT REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME OF THE TEST!

Hi Angelina02

I am doing the Kaplan Qbank. I was wondering if you would explain what is meant use "discrimination" for answer. I am confused when trying to answer the question. If you have any other tips I would appreciaye it. Thanks dfr1

I had a similar experience with the Kaplan course and passed the NCLEX. My scores on the qt's were:

qt 1: 56

qt 2: 49

qt 3: 54

qt 4: 58

qt 5: 57

qt 6: 54

qt 7: didn't do

Diagnostic: 57

Readiness test: 57

I attended all the lectures and also watched 75% of the content on LOD. My NCLEX exam stopped at 189 questions because I had reached the 6 hour time limit. When this happens, they only consider the last 60 questions. I must have been very close to the passing standard, because the exam did not shut off, as I said. I guess that if you had the same scores as me or higher you would pass, but probably not if they were any lower than that. This was my second time taking the exam, and the first time I did not study and had to take all 265 and failed. (which means I was close that time too.) I hope this helps! Best of luck to you all, and I hope you get it on the first shot!

Thanks for the encouragement. I dont get really high scores too in my qbank and qtrainers. I hope to pass too :D

Thanks johana I feel much better because even though I'm getting 75 on Kaplan I don't feel ready and my test is in 7 days. I nwant to buy the qbank so I can practice more but is kind of expensive and don't have themoney now. Do you know where I can find a promo code to get a discount? Thank you and congrats. Sandro.

Is there a promo code??

Is the qbank really the reason why people pass the exam or because on how they study.? I think its how they study..
