Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello... this is my 1st thread/post in here... i always read posts but dont share information but now i really need some advice or help.... i graduated nursing in the philippines(2007) but didnt take the board. after graduation i migrated here in the US and didnt take nclex...(stupid of me). i pick the wrong direction and joined the army instead.. now im out of the army and want to continue my nursing... i applied nclex in california but got denied... they want me to take 1 course to be able to take the exam... ive asked some school if i can take that subj but nobody wont let me... now we moved here in Kansas and tried applying for the board but they said i need to retake the whole nursing program for me to take nclex because its been 5 years... anybody know any state with different rules from kansas?

You can try state of Hawaii or New York.think you can apply whenever you graduated few years ago as long as you have your transcripts evaluated by CGFNS CES for HAwaii and CVS for NY.Good luck

I heard about the issue regarding the nclex application in California, I was planning to apply for it but fortunately I have clue from my friends who wasn't able to take it, we'll what I heard, you can't apply for nclex in another state while you have pending application in California, well for me it's better to do that 1 course than go back to school or if you have enough funds then go back to school since your out from nursing for 5 years.

i wanted to take that 1 course but i cant find any school that will allow me to take just that 1 course... when i was stationed in alaska, ive asked University of alaska if i can take it but they wont allow me... and when we got here in kansas, i asked washburn university if i can take it but they said no too..

What particular subject they want you to take?I graduated from the Philippines too way back 2009 and same as yours, got denied and they want me to take MS and OB to qualify for the NCLEX-RN exAm.

and yeah im like trying to go back to school... to start nursing all over again (coz i really want to be a nurse but i blew it off :((() but my problem now is i want to use my post GI bill... im enrolled in washburn university spring 2013 but the dean of nursing told me that my GI bill will not pay for the same degree i already have... i dont know if she is right about that.

they want me to take psychiatric nursing both theory and clinical....

As dragon_lady mentioned, you can try to have your NCLEX-RN exam in HI or NY, just need to go thru most English and transcripts evaluation.

Just remember that if you do pass the NCLEX-RN in any state AND you want to endorse (transfer) the license to another state, you still must meet that "new" state's minimum eduational requirements and any other English or transcripts review.

So if you pass in HI or NY and want to move your license over to CA (or in about 14 other States), there's a very high chance, the license transfer will be denied as it will not meet the same requirements asked of you in the first place. That being said, if you pass in HI or NY or wherever, you must decide to stay and work at that state for some time.

my situation is like yours, im giving nclex 7 years after passing nursing school from nepal.............i applied from new york .i think new york will allow to give u nclex

hello,

i know it is an old thread, a quick question though-- so did anyone find out if New York board allows foreign nurses to take nclex after 10 years of graduation? If anybody knows a definite answer, i would be grateful.
