& my experience of the entire ordeal

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took my test on March 5th and checked my results on the BRN's site this morning @ 5am and I was ecstatic that I saw my name with the RN title after it. BTW I previously posted a question about the time range when you usually get your results in CA. I took my test on Wed(5th) and got my results Sat(8th) morn although it says it was updated on the 7th. So for CA takers it takes about 2 business days unless you have paperwork that could be holding up your results.

On test day I was soooooooo anxious to the point I was shaking and I never had these symptoms before any test. But I was already saying to myself, "I'm not ready". Answered 2 questions then on my 3rd I started freaking out because I've never heard about this disorder and after that it seemed like I went downhill because I was already thinking "shoot I'm already messing up in the beginning". It shut off @ 75 and I could feel my eyes fill up with tears. I definitely cried after.

Waiting for your results is even worse before the jitters before the test. I couldn't talk to anyone and I was already preparing that I failed.

But after all this stress it felt good to see my name. :D

Just to pass on for future test takers:

- I just reviewed Saunder's cumulative review book, used my notes from class, Kaplan's strategy book & borrowed my friend's Kaplan online account using the question trainer and Q bank. For my scores from Kaplan I ranged from 48-72%. And I only had like 4 days to practice questions so I didn't even finish all the questions.

- I recommend Kaplan's questions because their questions are similar to the question types from the NCLEX (ie. priority, select all that apply)

- You are going to get asked about meds and really you can't memorize s/sx for each. Break down the meds by classifications and endings and see what stands out in each. (ie. Beta blockers, ususally ends in -olol, causes bronchospasms)

-Math was very basic. As in D/H x Q (demand/on hand times quantity). I had some IV kind of questions (V/T x drip factor) and then I had to convert lbs to kg.

- I'm sure you guys know about their high security facility. Check your ID's date expiration, make sure you have your ATT. Also they say you can't wear hats, scarfs, watches, you can wear religious type jewlery and if you want to bring in candy you have to unwrap it and put it in a tissue paper.

-In CA they ask you after 2 hours if you want to take a break. When they ask you about your break it looks like the cpu shuts off like when they cut you off in the test. I initially was freaking out because my ind wasn't already in it's place and I was thinking, " damn i suck they are already cutting me off".

- Be positive and try anything that will help you relax. I went in already setting myself to fail and that's the worse thing you can do for yourself.

You all can do it. You guys made it this far.

And personally my test consisted of 5-7 SATA, maybe 5 questions about meds, 5 on math, endocrine disorders, 2 questions about ob, nothing with peds, a few on psych disorders but no psych meds.

Congrats but not everyone's name will appear on BRN website in a couple of days. Their website indicates 2-4 weeks for results yes some may get their results in less but many more get it later

I have 2 friends that are still waiting for their results and they took it about a week ago. Some of us are thinking it could be taking awhile because an issue where they took their test could have happen or things like a missing grade on your transcript or just other unfortunate things. I'm rooting for you and I hope you get your results soon. Don't give up though! I hope your relaxing or having fun waiting. Keep your head up and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Congratulations!!!:balloons::balloons::balloons:
