Holmes ADN

U.S.A. Mississippi

Hey everyone,

I applied for Holmes ADN for fall 2007. I have an 18 ACT, my standardized test scores are never the best. However, I will graduate with my B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics in May with an overall 3.1 GPA. Do you think this will factor in and increase my chances? I'm really worried! I received a letter today and they said applicants should be notified by April 18th.:uhoh3:

Has anyone received a letter yet....

No letter yet.

I received my acceptance letter today 4/22. I went to my advisor today and she said they mailed out letters yesterday 4/21. I live in Ridgeland and am attending the Ridgeland campus so that might be why I received mine the day after they mailed them out! Good Luck to everyone!

:nurse::yeah:

I received an acceptance letter yesterday from Holmes.:yelclap:

Dophti,

What do you think made a difference in being accepted this year versus last year?

congrats.... to all who got accepted... :wh00t:

Dophti,

What do you think made a difference in being accepted this year versus last year?

I received an Associated of Arts Degree and I became a certified nursing assistant. I'm not sure if that helped or not.

Hi everyone! I'm new here and this is my first post. I was accepted to Holmes at the Grenada campus. Does anyone else go there?

I know very little about the school or the area, so any comments would be appreciated. I live in Memphis right now.

I just finished my second semester at holmes in grenada....I love it! any questions you have feel free to PM me.

Argh! I can't figure out how to pm here. I'm sure it's just right in front of me, but I'm missing it.

I have some general questions that I hope a Holmes student can answer.

I have a question about NURS 1119 (Nursing I.) The lab meets two days a week from 8-3. That's clinicals, right? (Sorry, I have a BA and am finishing my Masters degree both in History, so I'm learning the nursing lingo.)

Do you start going on those two days from 8-3 the first week or will that start within the first few weeks of school? Do you stay the full time? Are you required to go more than Tues-Fri class times?

It sounds like I'm trying to get out of class, lol... But I'm going to be commuting from Memphis to Grenada and I'm just trying to get myself organized.

At Grenada - are all the clinicals conducted at the Grenada Lake medical center?

Also - what all did you need to purchase for the first semester?

Thanks everyone for any help you can give me!

Specializes in Stepdown/IMU, full-time Night shift charge.

Purchase requirements = about $1000 in books plus uniforms, stethiscope, BP meter (can't pronounce, so how can I spell it), and lots of gasoline for the commute.

As far as the schedule of classes, forget what you see on the bulletin. I was in Ridgeland, so I do not know the Grenada schedule, but we met 3-4 days per week from 8A-3P, and that was before clinicals started. Clinicals can run from 6A-6P.
