OCC - 2010 applicants / 2011 ADN prospective students

U.S.A. Michigan

Hey everyone! Im back for my second application into the ADN program at OCC ::sigh:: As I did in the thread I created last year, I am creating a new one for all those applying to the nursing progam for next fall. Lets keep in touch and keep one another updated. Good luck guys!!! :)

unfortunately the euphoria only lasts 5 minutes into the first class. the fact that they already posted your class schedule is amazing...usually they dont post anything till 2 days before your due to start class.

i remember last year, i actually think i counted down the days till school began. now im doing the same thing but without the excitement:( it is exciting to start something new, (especially after working so hard to get here) best thing to do is find some friends in foundations and start a study group, very hard to make it through by being a loner

Where is the foundation class posted? I only see my old summer I's pharm and nsg dept on BB. Any hint? Thanks.

I realize the classes are going to be difficult in the program, but it just feels so good to finally be IN and working towards something more than prereq's. After a couple of weeks, I will probably counting down until the next break :)

I'm scheduled as well. Mon 9-11:55. So glad it's a morning class!

Hi guys, just to let u know I graduated from occ in April. Within 2 weeks of getting my license I already received 2 job offers. Good luck to all of you... its unbelievable how many doors will open after u get your licenses. Occ has a really good program & hospitals are quick to hire occ grads. Btw, I am working at beaumont in the ER. Pay is 25.03 plus 2.50 more for nights & 2.00 more on weekends.

Thanks for the encouraging words, cjbacjba, and congrats to you on finding employment straight out of nursing school!

Just out of curiosity, did/do you feel well prepared for you your current position as an ER nurse? Considering you are still a new grad (less than a year since graduation), do you feel comfortable in your current position? How has the transition from school to real-world been?

Any additional advice will be greatly appreciated!
