ITT Tech?

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Have any of you looked into their ADN program? It is new in Michigan this year; however, Indiana just had their first graduates, or are getting close to graduation.

I took the HESI at ITT Tech in July. I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear something. If all goes well, I plan to start in September. :yeah:

One drawback is the cost. Another is that nothing you take here will transfer. That's something to condider if you are young and may eventually go on to obtain your BSN. Me? I'm in my 40's now. No chance of getting my BSN.

Please post if you know anything about this school, or if you were one of the many who took the HESI here. No waiting list. Score high enough on the HESI and you're in. The caveat is that they are only taking 30 students to start. I plan to be one from the initial class. We should hear something this week.

Good luck! I scored 94 on the math and English portions of the test. Hopefully we both get in to the Portland program. I am really excited too! You will do great w/ the HESI. Message me if you have any questions about it.

Hi Crazytmogirl... Congrats on doing well on the exam!

Funny to meet someone here from PDX campus. I could've taken the Heisi exam earlier but I figured this would give me more time to study. I'm not really too worried about it, but plan to review the book as much as possible.

Any tips for taking their exam??

I'll keep in touch, and you too!

The math, grammar, and vocab were JUST like in the book. The reading was a bit easier than the book. But the book helped me a lot. We had to take all of the portions (I took it June 3), but apparently they are only counting the math and english. It wasn't super hard but I felt overwhelmed at the end because the book didn't prepare me at all for the science. There is a calculator built in to the test program, but know how to do fractions like in the book. Know your household conversions, like ounces in a gallon, and some metric to standard conversions. It really wasn't super hard. In the reading, I felt like sometimes there were multiple answers that could be right and that is where I got deducted a bit. You'll do great. Did Justina say what the average June class got on the HESI?

The sucky part is that we're not going to know if we're in until August. :( It's hard to wait and keep other plans on the back burner, not knowing if this will happen or not. Justina told me w/ a 94 I should have a good chance at getting in. We'll see. When I went to my info session they were working on articulation agreements w/ other schools. They had Linfield and Walla Walla done, but they didn't tell us the third because it wasn't finalized. What is it?

I was wondering when they would make a decision on who will go in... I'm sure you will get in with a 94!! :) But yes, I understand about waiting and having to put other plans on back burner. Lots depend on it, for example work and the family. I was taking classes at a community college but now that I've found this program, I've pretty much put that on hold. Oh well, I'm sure it will all work out. I hope to get in Sept., but December would be ok too.

Thanks for all your suggestions on the Heisi exam parts. I will most definitely review the book and make sure I understand as much possible.

Did you go for your financial aid appt? Or I guess that would be after they decide if you start this September right?

Well, keep me posted on what happens this summer and I wish you lots of luck!!

I think they will be calling for financial aid appts. when they have a pretty good idea of who will be getting in. I'm fine w/ Sept. or Dec. too, but would definitely prefer Sept.

Has anyone heard about Hondros college school of nursing in colombus,oh? i got accepted there, i just wanted to knwo if you guys heard anything in particular about it, as to how the program and the school is, Accreditation and what not. Also, i wanted to apply at ITT tech as well at the indiana site, is ITT tech on the candidacy website for the NLNAC? does its credits transfer?

HEy guys, what kind of hesi score do i need to get into the itt tech program? i got an 86. 88 in math, 91 in reading.

I am heading to the PDX campus at the end of the month for an info session. I am currently in Hawaii, but will be relocating to Troutdale, OR just to go to school since the Hawaii programs are so competitive. I am also looking at some LPN programs, but would much prefer an ADN and then BSN down the road. I am worried about the cost... I qualify for financial aid here in Hawaii, I just hope all of that transfers just fine and that a good chunk of the ridiculous tuition is covered. I can't wait to go down there in 3 weeks... my parents bought a house that is sitting, waiting for someone to move in. Let me know if you guys get into the PDX program, I would love to hear about your experiences!

This thread is about a year old, does anyone know how it worked out for the OP?

I would avoid ITT Tech.

well im starting the nursing program at ITT in Indiana in september and i'm really excited im only 19 years old. I know two other ppl in the program who haven't had any complaints. Overall i'm really excited to start

Im sure some of you have good reasons to want to fast track your career, but that is way too much money. I almost feel like you are getting taken for a ride. The more money you have to take out in student loans , the more pressure you are going to be under in this economy to find a job right away and from what I hear the job market is not too good right now. Might as well take a slower route and wait for the economy to recover. Just my 2 cents.
