Thought this would give us all a nice visual once folks place their vote.

Currently, I am in Ortho-Neuro Med Surg.

Also, I have placed a similar poll in our Male Nursing Student Forum. That poll can be viewed here:

Good comparison threads when viewed together.

Specializes in NICU, Pediatric Urgent Care.

NICU & Well Baby nursery here - we rotate to stay up on our skills for both areas.

Specializes in ED, pre-hospital medicine and CCT.

CEN - Paramedic here. I don't think I would like it anywhere but ER.

Specializes in Emergency.

Start in the ER in 2 weeks. Been a ski patroller and EMT-B for over 10 years, think I'll be at home in emergency.

Interviewed on a cardiac floor, the NM looked at my resume and said, "Why are you here? This has emergency written all over it." Needless to say, I didn't get a job offer.

Specializes in Informatics, critical care, research.

I'm surprised informatics wasn't listed as a category.

Replacement Pool (ER/ICU and Med/Surg) for me.

Specializes in ICU.

Starting in MICCU on Aug 4th. My hospital combines Medical and cadiac ICU together (MICCU). I am excited and I am eager to learn. I would have preferred to be in SICU, but for now I'll be in MICCU for 6-12 months and after I'll try to transfer to SICU! I think that SICU is more "exciting"...

Psych...............

Geez, Louise!

First job out the gate was in Trauma/Burn, and I've worked ICU, ED, MedSurg, Mgt, Admin & Travel... so where DO I work?

Still trying to figure that one out! *LOL*

I do desire to continue through with MSN, perhaps 2x in Admin & CRNA, maybe even a FNP cert.

Just thinking, you know.

Specializes in ICU, ER (ED), CCU, PCU, CVICU, CCL.

Cardiac cath lab last 2 years. I returned to this lab were I worked 9 years ago. I worked almost exclusively ICU's of some type, CCU, SICU, CVICU. It's always been my observation that males are more tech comfortable and lean toward those areas.

I start Nursing School next year. Right now I'm a unit Secretary in the CCU, and that's where I plan to stay.

Specializes in Elderly Rehab.

I'm in Elderly Rehabilitation, working in it that is:chuckle

Emergency, PACU, & Home Health...nice mix huh!
