What do you guys think of the term MURSE?
Personally I hate it. It sounds stupid, and is incredibly annoying. It designates some difference, obviously gender, but the name is immature and did I mention annoying?
Instead of nurse, lets use Furse and Murse
instead of cop, we'll use Mop, and Fop
Instead of Teacher, Feacher and Meacher
Instead of Doctor, Foctor and Moctor

The use of Murse is meant as a joke. I personally refer to myself as a Murse to be funny! But if someone was calling you that to be derogatory I might be offended. Otherwise lighten up!

Yes, it's a stupid term.
Discussed before: https://allnurses.com/men-in-nursing/new-name-nurses-603019.html
Not worth worrying about, though

I've worked with nurses who happen to be male for nearly 30 years now, and the only place I've ever heard the term "murse" is on this site.

I only hear the term when it's being joked around. There are bigger gender issues out there actually worth caring about.

I always knew of murse as a male purse - a term used to make fun of guys with man bags or murses.
Male nurse? Dang right I am. And if you make fun of it, I'll remember not to resuscitate you when you need it
